Wouldn't surprise me either.

I think the Liles contract, plus Rozsival's surgery hurts his value.

That's what I'm thinking.

So, how do you feel about it?

I don't think i would mind Rozy at that price. He has had 3 really solid years for us.

I think that could be a good deal for us.

This summer isn't even at July 1st yet and it has already been interesting... thank God.

Honestly? In Feb I wanted him gone. But, now I'd rather have a known Rosival than an unknown Campbell/Boyle/InsertFlavoroftheMinuteHere. If Rosie agrees to ~ $4MM, I think Slats meets Avery half-way, and tosses the second year at Jagr. No matter Slats' strategy is, he's starting to see the 2nd tier UFAs go off the board, and that must be affecting his plans somehow.

Btw, I think both Slats and Jagr must be under some pressure (NHL, NHLPA, IIHF, sponsors, etc.) to get a deal done for the games in Prague.

im probably going to either Burn it if he goes to the islanders, put it in the back of the closet if he goes out west, or Sell it or Give it away if he stays East.

That Prague game seems they jumped the gun a little right now, huh? lol

Yea, i agree, i would much rather sign Rozsival then Campbell (who i think is overrated) or Redden. We know what to expect from him. At 4/year wouldn't be bad at all. I was expecting him to get around 6. But the recent events may drop that a lot to our favor.

I'm up in the air about Avery and Jagr.

I don't think Avery is worth 3 mil But I'm in the minority there. And i only want Jags (despite him being my fav Ranger) back if it is for a good price and only one-two year deal, and as long as we don't hand out ridiculous contracts to players (handcuffing us) to compliment him.

Should be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

I have a feeling that if Jagr and Sather can't come to terms, that Sather may target Hossa pretty hard.not saying i'm for it or against it, just a feeling. But i'm no insider or anything.

Spot on. Good find. Limits our options, but if Campbell and Redden can be had for 5.8-6.5 and 5.25-5.75 respectively, I'm happy!

Mark Streit is the poor mans Campbell. Amazing #'s on the first unit PP in Montreal. Not great defensively, just like Campbell. I say Slats goes for him and Orpik. 4 mil to Streit should get it done, resign Rozy, and throw some money at Orpik.

Staal-Girardi
Tyutin-Rozy
Streit-Orpik

Backman

I'll take that lineup.

Streit is a one hit wonder. I'll eat crow if he ever tops 60 points in a season again.

Bad?

His annual cap hit is 5.6 mill, not bad at all for a top-pairing guy who can put up 60 points.

I wish Sather would have inquired about the guy, I've always been a fan of his.

Glad the Rangers didn't get him. He's worse than Campbell offensively and defensively.

Knowing that the hip probably had a lot to do with his regression this year, the Liles signing makes me want Rozsival back. I was worried he might get between 4.5-5M, but now I can't see him getting more than Liles.

I'll be putting my Avery jersey up on the wall, unless he signs with a rival. It can go next to my Theo Fleury jersey!

ouch, yeah im gonna be smart with my next jersey. im waiting til July 1st to see if Jagr is coming back if not Drury is going to be an addition. My Smart Choices for Jerseys were, Shanny, Henke, Gretzky, and Messier. My Dumb choices were Bure, and Avery. Petr Puck right now is inbetween smart and dumb.

I like Rozsival at around 4 mil, but no more. I like it more if we can sign a puck mover as well.

If you call turning the puck over at our own blue line or behind or net a puck mover, then sure.
