Eminger also was in the press box drinking martini's with GMGM all season, so i dont think Sather should be "fired" for not going after a guy who played around 20 games, and was not injured.

i know but its sad seeing other gms improve their team and sather has done nothing, u mean to tell me no one would trade a draft pick for mara's, avery or even jagr's negotating rights.

What you are saying is you're not happy that Sather isn't doing what you would do.

I don't know...

if anyone asked for Mara's rights - I would think that he won't be signed on day 1. Ditto Jagr. With all that's gone around regarding him not being in a hurry and the potential offers from overseas, who would want to trade to negotiate with him today. As for Avery...perhaps he too isn't in as much demand as some of the others whose rights have been traded. The Rangers were granted permission to Sundin and didn't give up anything for that.

I think that would mean that he intends to sign them. Or is trying to sign them.

RC...

perhaps the feeling was that Malone will be signed around around 12:01PM tomorrow and Jagr will not. You only trade for rights if you think there's a reasonable chance you will be able to sign a player prior to the UFA season beginning.

Some More Updates:

-Daymond Langkows extension with Calgary is being estimated at 4 Years/5mill per.

-Bertuzzi cleared waivers and the Ducks are planning on buying him out, which will make him a UFA.

-Denis Gauthier (1 Year/2.2mill) has been placed on waivers by the Flyers.

Malone is gone and if Rolston goes to TB too yikes

what is left...Betuzzi, Demitra, Ryder , Satan

Given that I say get Orpik and Redden.........atleast that makes the goaltending and D real strong

Then give the young kids a shot upfront, Jagr back, Avery back............and a cheap option like Satan and Ryder to fit under the cap

Alexei Zhitnik and Duvie Westcott are free agents. Both players cleared waivers Monday and were bought out by their teams.

Gonna have to be the case. Anaheim's going to be trading Schneider given the Buying of Bert - they should make a folk song about that.

Okay, so they trade for Niskala, then a week later trade him.

Lets hope Jorts doesnt see it, he'll kill Slats again for not doing this first

You think Jagr would want to come back if we did that?
You think Slats wants to try and bring a guy back while another team is talking to him?
You dont think Avery would be like "F you" after that?

Nonsense
