The Three Your Happy With?

If the Rangers only make three signings, including FA's and resignings...who would you be happy with. Let's not get ridiculous, we're not getting Hossa, Campbell and Sundin.

For me, it'd be Orpik, Rozsival and Hossa.

Honestly if Jagr doesn't come back I say we stay put and look towards next season.

Really? I think that's a terrible idea. That team would have a lloooottttt of trouble making the playoffs.

I may get killed for this but this is my reasoning. Unless Sather goes absolutely nuts and resigns Jagr and then goes out and signs Hossa, Campbell and say Orpik the Rangers will not be a better team than they were last season when they obviously didn't have enough in them to be real contenders in my opinion compared to others like Pittsburgh.

I say we don't force ourselves into overpaying in this weak free agent pool and take a year off for the most part.

I do believe however that we must resign Avery.

Plato...

it's not fair to Dubinsky's development to have him play with Hollweg and Moore next season because this team didn't add veteran wingers and the depth of wingers at the NHL level is weak.

My three favorites? Tough to say without getting into prices, contract terms, etc. I think Rolston, Orpik and a right winger.

I agree but do you think its worth tying ourselves to a series of bad contracts as a result.

Still averaging 27 goals per. With a strong playmaker like Gomez could be good.

Jagr, Rosival, and Sundin

I personally don't see the problem with the Rangers D as it stands from last season. If the Rangers shuffled their powerplay around [ie rethought how to go about it completely], they would be fine. Rosival has a fantastic shot from the point, and when he actually shot without thinking, he tended to score.

I'd even be happy with Malik coming back if he were cheap enough and they waived Backman. Maybe if a few people took cheap shots on him, he'd learn to throw his body around a bit more.

Same for me. Redden, if we can't get Orpik, but no one else really interests me. I'd rather promote from the Wolfpack and draft well next season.

1)avery
1a)orpik
3)jagr

thats really all i want this offseason, but if you add rosy to this mix, thats a huge plus for me- and then i would consider it very successful.

figure we trade for a winger midway through the season, after we find out a little more of what we have as far as the progression of our youth goes.

Jagr
Orpik
Vrbata

I would be happy with Jagr, Sundin and Orpik, but that ain't gonna happen.

Seems that we all really want Orpik. Guess he is the bone crushing solid dman that we've needed for years now.

1. No Jagr - addition by subtraction.
2. Orpik - if not him, Redden, if not him, Streit.
3. Nagy - get him cheap for 1 or 2 years and put him with Gomez. If not him, Vrbata.

I think he'd be a really good addition. But people need to temper their expectations. He's a good piece, though.
