He's 33, why not give him a 2 year deal. By the time that deal is over, our kids are more mature and ready for full time action? Just a thought...
ehhh.....if the rangers needed a third line winger for a couple of year he would be a good fit....however the rangers have TONS of 3rd line wingers with callahan, dawes, sjostrom, korpikoski

Even if he did, his cap hit is a no trade clause anyway.

Actually, Drury only negotiated with one team, the Rangers, so we don't know how many teams wanted to sign him and how much they'd pay.

I would be shocked if he didn't get one. Now whether if finds it acceptable is another story.

Why wouldn't the Rangers make Avery one last offer?

With Boyle possibly on the block, anyone think Sather might go after him instead of Campbell?

It depends what the Lightning want back...but i think he will go for Campbell before Boyle because he doesn't have to give anything up for Brian. Boyle may be plan C after Redden though.

I could be wrong, but weren't the Rangers one of the few teams he would have been willing to have contract negotiations with, if he was moved at the deadline?

yup, because apparently the rangers were one of the top suitors for him.

I dont think this July 1st is going to nearly as exciting as last...

...P.S-do the signings start at 12 or do we have to wait till the morning for action to start picking up?

I think it will be exciting because we have so many question marks with all of the key players going to free agency.

I kinda agree with this...I can see a wait and see approach to this years free agency from around the league. I'm sure some guys will sign tomorrow but I wouldn't be surprised if after tomorrow night the BIG NAMES are still unsigned...

Last year was great though....Not for who the Rangers signed but it was a Sunday...Stupid work always gets in the way...

They can start talking to players at midnight, but cannot officially announce anything until noon as far as I know.
