a few things

let`s assume there is hockey next year

1) which remaining rfa and ufa will not be back, I say Quintal for sure

Kovalev will not get anywhere near the 6-7 he is getting now, but I think he leaves
for the States.

2) i think Hossa, Hainsey and Higgins have a better than 60% of playing from day 1.

3) do you see any major deals that BG will make? or any major signings?

1. Perreault, Quintal, Dowd(imo), Dackel(sweeden), Juneau(retired).

Kovalev i think will be back, but his sallary wont be anywhere near 6 mill.

2. Hossa and Hainsey will play. Higgins will play from time too time imo like Komo did this season and eventually get a full time spot if he shows nhl level of play.

3. No major deals will be made, and a 3rd or 4th line player will be signed. Can i hear a Lappy!

Thats what i think will happen.

Quintal could be back. I don't know Gainey wouldn't welcome him back if his price is right. I'm not sure how comfortable Gainey is in Montreal yet. I think he's going to be doing more signing than trading this off-season.

Qunital wont be back, because he doesnt want to be a 7th D. He said he would sign elsewhere if that was the case on a radio station.

No I don't think Quintal will be back now we have to build a solid defence now Quintal is not fast enough and he said that he will retire soon but if there are a lockout next year Quintal will retire for sure ! My 7th D next year will be Hainsey not QUintal.

Quintal doesn't skate well and doesn't hit anymore, so he won't be back.

Gainey likes guys who skate AND hit.

He doesn't even play D anymore.

IMO Quintal, Dackell, Bouillon, and maybe Langdon (50/50), and Dowd (50/50) won't be back next year.

Kovy will sign IMO. July 1st.

Other than that, one thing Im wondering is Garon's status... We now have a lot of depth in the net to get filtered through... I wonder if this may tempt BG to make a deal

Other than that however... I don't think anything too surprising will come Montreal's way this summer... Other than further rookie development (we'll see how close they are)

Bouillon not returning doesn't make sense. There were nights he was our most solid defenseman. He more than makes up for his size with his energy.

I don't see that happening just yet. IMO Komi is the 6th def right now, just based on experience and playing time. Hainsey may make the club (it's up to him to really want it) but it will be as the 7th D. They will ease him in slowly like they did with Komi.
