If you're talking about Sundin, nope.

If you're talking about Kostitsyn, nope.

If you're talking about Streit, nope.

If you're talking about HOSSA , nope.

If you're talking about Lapierre, yeah, but why would you be talking about Lapierre.

i didnt expect it either.
When I think of the top UFA's, Streit never comes to my mind.

He says he wants to play strictly on defence next season and well, he aint the best Dman. Playing forward is best for him.

This JUST in: I have no freaking clue.

edit: Oh, and for the record, it DOES kill me when I get geared up for dates (like trade deadlines, draft day, FA period, etc), but have to wait like 12 hours before anything happens! On top of THAT, just as it's heating up after 12pm for you guys today, I'll be well on my way to going to bed as it will be 1 am (July 2nd) by then! No classes tomorrow, so maybe I'll stick out a few hours.

That's the problem with Streit, he's misunderstood.. I mean the guy doesn't know that by insisting on playing D next season, he shoots himself in the foot.. He's much better on the wings and on the PP point, period.

It's like he's saying "Hey, i'm tha dood now, you play me where I say so".. Not the right approach.. IMHO..

But I wouldn't mind having him back, on the 4 line, in and out.. Though that won't happend now...

Wouldn't it be cool if we could actually discuss on buying this jersey in 12 hours?... =)

(No not Marcel Hossa's jersey...18 is retired and Marian wears 81 for Slovakia so I figured it would be the logic choice)

Except Streit is not really a defenseman. He has become a forward who plays the point on the powerplay. He plays defense in some games when there is no other choice except calling up a rookie. He's just awful on defense.

Funny, Larry Brooks reported this morning that the Bruins are prepared to offer Hossa 100 million over 12 years.

Brooks also reports Shanny is going back to New Jersey.

I can see it now after Hainsey we get

"Montreal Canadiens are pleased to announce they have signed HOSSA to a 8 year 13 million dollar contract".Gainey said" Marcel is a good guy ".

Guys, some breaking news. I dreamt I was playing with Naslund last night and I said to him come to Montreal and play with Saku! and he said "No, not now".

So there you go, scratch him off your lists.

Don't do anything..

Personally, if you don't get Sundin there is no one else on the market that really fits are needs. You sign Hossa to a HUGEEEEEEEE contract you will see how that will effect our cap for years to come when we would have to sign guys like Pleks, Higgins, Komi, Kost, Price etc. Sundin was ideal as it was for 1 or 2 yrs.

Another interesting option mabey acquiring Mathew Sceider from Anaheim. We are loosing Streit this year and it would be nice to have a great shot from the point and some one who is pretty good on D. From there, you can possibly look at trading a Bouillon (who has value)+ a B+ prospect to get that second line center.

big smoke in ranger land

http://hfboards.com/showthread.php?p...3#post14640623

The other missive is mysterious, from a Canadian acquaintance, warning of a major surprise coming out the Rangers HQ today.

Hmmm. Surprise?

Just about every free agent forward and defenseman out there has been linked to the Rangers at some point by agents or web-site wags since the end of the season. Maybe it's an unforseen trade.
