This is going to be nuts!

We all know nothing is going to happen...But here's a little preview of my expectations regarding the reactions in Hab Land:
Gainey
BriseBois
Gauthier
Timmins

Sundin

If the Rags were indeed "talking" to Sundin. Would the supposed draft pick penalty go to the Habs or the Leafs? It would be great if it was to us, it could even end up being Tavares.

Huge contract for Mike Green... 5.25M$/year for 4 years...

How much will Bouwmeester or Pitkanen fetch since they are the two best RFA defensemen still unsigned?

The other missive is mysterious, from a Canadian acquaintance, warning of a major surprise coming out the Rangers HQ today.

Hmmm. Surprise?

Just about every free agent forward and defenseman out there has been linked to the Rangers at some point by agents or web-site wags since the end of the season. Maybe it's an unforseen trade.
Imagine they Sign Sundin and trade Gomez or Drury.

I find it hilarious how every website and TV station keeps calling Striet one of the best defenceman available in the same breath as Campbell when he barely even played D last year

This is why I had a "If". I remember rumors about this and, yes, I know they sounded really phony. The Rags are the Rags and it would not be the first time that they defy the league. Its not like I'm saying it happened or there is a good chance it did. I'm saying, if it did, do we or the Leafs, get the picks.

Personally, if I were the Kings and I were going to sign a vet to a one- or two-year deal, I'd be looking at a D to help out with their young guys in the short-term... do they know yet if Blake's coming back?

Yeah that makes sense so what about Redden in LA then?

I could see LA taking a shot at Redden. Especially since Vishnovsky has been traded, and Blake is still not re-signed.

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning who is an LA fan. He's actually hoping that the Kings sign Theo.

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/2008/06...rs_to_go.shtml

've been told that the Blue Jackets will make a "significant" offer to defenseman Wade Redden, that he's been targeted as their No. 1 priority when free agency opens at noon on Tuesday.

There are no guarantees that Redden will sign with the Blue Jackets, of course, but I've been told that if Redden turns down the Blue Jackets' offer, it won't be because of money.

I'll take a stab: 6 years, $38 million.

I thought I've read somewhere that Rolston did not want to move to Canada?

My prediction for the day: Habs re-sign Bryan Smolinsky!
