Flipped a coin between Val and Grabs. Val won. Figured that Grabs has proven himself (including showing a few flashes in the big show), but hasn't shown me a lot that will translate into top 6 NHL effectiveness. Conversely, Val hasn't proven himself, but has shown a lot of skills that could easily translate into being a better than 3rd pairing defenseman if his development continues into the NHL.

I wanted Subban...

But I Voted Valentenko because I don't think that Grabovski has much upside with the habs... But I may be wrong. He has good potential but his attitude was a problem last year.

I wouldn't say his attitude was a problem. He made one mistake that I remember (the flight issue - more an altitude problem*) but I can't remember anything else. I remember him wanting to play for the team a great deal. I remember him working hard to come back after injuries. I remember him improving his game to the point where he forced Gainey to call him up. But I don't recall his attitude being a problem (in the Ray Emery style of attitude problems). Are there other incidents I'm forgetting about here? Because if not, he did the types of things last year we want our young players to do: work hard and care about making the team.

* I know, bad joke. Sorry

What are you going to do didouche? Put Grabovsky & Valentenko both at #7?

Common people!

He wasn't rated a Top-3 defensive forward and best face-off man in the WHL for no reason.
I think White should be on our Top 10! But maybe not at number 7.

As for myself, 7-8 are Subban and Valentenko. Number 9-10-11 for Fischer,White and D'agostini

The standard way is to have a tie break with just the two options. Who knows who the Subban/etc crowds will choose if forced to choose between just A or B. The loser then usually just assumes the next spot and you go from there.

edit: Or if #3 and 4 aren't completely in the dust, you can put the tie break loser back into the pool and go from there, but usually it ends up next anyway.

The tie break loser should go back in the pool for the next spot....

he'll probably win... but not if a great majority of the votes from the tie break winner shift to the third place guy.

We saw it happen in the all-time habs votes with Patrick Roy losing a tie-break and then not actually winning for like 3 more spots.
