Good deal for the Hawks... I have a lot of friends who are Hawks fans that wanted Bourque out.

Flames need more depth at the wings. Not a bad pick up one way or the other.

Sweet deal

He could be a decent player, but he just wasn't working out with us.

Can't believe he was worth a 2nd rounder. Aside from his PK work, he's almost worthless.

He's got decent size and speed, a pretty heavy shot. Good on the PK. Plays a real horizontal game, can cause some chaos on the forecheck.

He's an average 3rd liner with 20 goal upside.

I don't see how he "sucks" he's 26 played 62 games last year with 24 point and a plus 6.

Wow, good deal for the Hawks, Rene sucked, the guy was built like Joe Thornton too. I expected alot out of him but the guy just fizzeled out.

A 2nd round pick for a boarderline 3rd liner, ill take it. It opens up some cap space and a roster spot for a FA or one of the kids.

Highway robbery for Tallon. Tallon has proven to be one of the better GM's in the NHL.

Sutter gets rid of another hated second round draft choice.

He must lose sleep over those things.

Decent deal for both teams. Chicago gets an asset for a redundant player who was blocking some talented youngsters, while Calgary gets some NHL-level depth on its roster (they don't have much wiggle room under the cap).

I agree 100%.

Not to mention it opens up some cap space. I dont know what he was making but... Wasnt he a RFA anyways?

I think he was?

I bet Sutter didnt want to throw an offer at Rene and have the Hawks match and Im sure the Hawks wouldnt have matched anyways so, I guess the Flames were really interested in Bourque then.

In the end it works out for everyone.
