Ah there it is:

Additionally, the second-round pick gives us 13 selections in next summer’s draft which is projected to be a deep draft.
We haven't heard that one before, have we?

Sounds like we pretty much gave Zidlicky away.

Poile needs to sign a big forward now, or extend Radulov. If not... I would've just as soon kept Zidlicky

Jones

Anyone think that Jones has a chance to crack the lineup next year?

Only if he beats out Hornqvist or Pihlstrom...

Don't like this trade, I thought if we're going to try and dump some salary for this type of return I'd rather dump DeVires sorry "A". Zids will be missed, looks like Leggy is the lone whipping boy left now.

I'm happy to trade Zids but did think we could get more-- that, of course, makes assumptions about Jones that may be wrong. Remember, Zids was a "throw in" in the Dunham deal but management thought (after scouting) that he could play.

Jones certainly fits the bill of what the Preds need in a big, go to the net forward-- we all assume it's a bad deal because he is unproven but none of us has scouted him.

Bottom line: Ditching Zids was a good move. Grade incomplete on getting Jones.

How do we make up for Zidlicky's offense? 6th leading scorer on the team.

I personally think that either of the "K"-men could atleast with PP time could score that many this season or next. I like the move, just like most have said we should've gotten more but realistically with teams knowing the log jam we have at defense that's really all we could expect.

A healthy Shea Weber? A continually emerging Ryan Suter?

Jesus, Zidlicky was good, but everyone knew he was replaceable from within. What do you expect? Our already bad power play will fall to the VERY bottom, we'll lose 15 more games than last year, missing the playoffs, which will cause ticket sales to plummet, opening the door for the local ownership to be bought out by their newest investor Jim Balsillie, who will move the team to Hamilton, sign several high profile free agents and sacrifice babies to Baal?

So negative, it's July 1. There's plenty of time to do something else, either via trade or Free Agency.

Don't ask me why, but I could see him as an enforcer on the Preds. Size, can and will fight and is more capable talent wise than Hordichuk.

Talk about over reaction to a simple question. Perhaps you are reading too much into it.

It's a honest question that the team needs to look into and something for us to discuss...

I'm not overreacting. It IS a valid question..but as someone who considers themself pretty negative...I just don't get the overwhelming negative speculation. David Poile HIMSELF has said that if Sullivan doesn't look like he's coming back, he'll need to be replaced. He doesn't look like he's coming back. He also said that he feels we need to add size\scoring, and that he's not overly impressed with the FA crop...but that we have a lot of tradeable assets, which we still do.

Again, it is not negative speculation. Hoping to see where everyone thinks we are going to make up his lost points.

Your first part of the past was a good response, the second part, not so much.

It doesn't surprise me that Minnesota traded Jones, a physical forward doesn't fit into their system. I may be biased here but as a Miami season ticket holder I think you will be pleasantly surprised by Jones. He is a physical player who also has a goal scorer's touch. He gives his heart and soul to his team, never gives up and is a natual leader on and off the ice.

Don't worry about the hair. He grew it out until it was long enough to donate to Locks for Love. I think if/when he spends a significant time in Nashville he'll be a fan favorite.

Never underestimate what Trotz can do with whatever lineup he's given. He has a nack for getting players to play well for him.

I have no idea of Jones potential, but I would say he is probably a lesser to mid-range prospect.

Zidlicky needed to be traded, and now that he has been I think it is reasonable to say that the return was on the low end of expectations. When Jeff FInger is making 3.5 million, the 'he makes to much' excuse doesn't compute, not to mention Campbell's asking price being 70 million (hahaha).

I like the acquisition of Jones. He's a quality prospect with a lot of upside but he was stuck by Clutterbuck and Kalus in Minnesota's farm. He may take too many penalties but we need to be more physical. I hope he reaches his potential.

Jones doesn't look too bad to me, He's better some of our other Forward prospects at least. Polie just stated he was the reason for the trade, and the scouts were very high on him. He had several offers for Z BTW. At least Our Flower play can't get worse by losing Marek.

We will see. He is certainly a prospect that is not a 'name' prospect, and for us to move our no. 1 trade chip for a prospect, you would suspect he is either really well thought of, on the fast track, or something along those lines.... Anyone know any other succesful 4 year college guys?

Or it's just a salary dump.

I would have thought that we could have gotten more for Zids. I think K&K can replace what he brought.

I know nothing about Jones, but I know our farm system is void of power forward types, so that's not so bad there.

He was offered to come out of school early but declined.
