I really doubt Sather was like leaving Campbell on hold to talk to Voros or something, I don't see why anyone would worry about it.

Stop overreacting. He's a good hitter and can pop in some goals. He has potential to be a pest and he's way better than Hollweg. Just because it's not a big signing doesn't mean its bad.

With a guy like Voros, Sather probably has a very little to actually do. They all sit down in their meetings prior to free agency, develop a plan and go after each of those guys. Voros is not a big fish, therefore is probably receiving very little attention from Sather himself.

maybe its just me, but a team that needs 3 top 2 line wingers, and a top defenseman, shouldnt be talking to a guy whom they really dont need. at least not this early.
This is a perfect PR move for when/if Avery leaves... this guy is just as good in what Avery brings to the team. The fans will love him.

And its still early, no really big names have signed anything yet and if I remember correctly wasn't it around 6ish when Drury/Gomez signed?

Wow, talk about overreacting.

You really think signing Voros will change ANYTHING about their chances of getting any of the players you mentioned? Come on.

Zipay speculating that this could be a prelude to a trade. Hollweg for Kubina?

A part of me is happy with this signing because I like the type of player Voros is. However, another part of me is dissapointed because this likely shuts the door on Avery returning.

exactly, people just arent getting it.

Bluenote, im not walking out, im just saying why are we talking about this guy right now when there are HUGE holes all over this lineup? it doesnt make sense, and as a diehard, im surprised more people arent annoyed. Im sure the kid will be jus tfine, and ill love the way he plays and blah blah blah, but right now, im more worried about an offensive team that is depending on Prucha and Dawes to be your top 2 wingers, and a defense that has Backman potentially paired with Staal as your top pairing.

Yeah, I think a few people need to relax a bit. I'm sure it didn't take Sather hours to put this deal together. I'm sure there's plenty of time to make the odd phone call here and there between working to land the big fish.

I saw him quite a bit last year with the Wild and I really liked his energy and willingness to drop the gloves. Guy is going to be a beauty with the Rangers.

provides more size and skill then Hollweg, he will actually fight but hes not that great but still hold his own against bigger players.
