good team guy. not sure about his speed.

Looks like a solid forechecking team the Rangers are building.

If they can get Rozy cheap, throw in another defensman and a winger who can put the puck in the net it wont be too bad.

A lot of character guys they are going for. I think Avery is DEFINITELY out seeing this.

I don't get you people. Why does signing a depth guy mean disaster? They are most likely doing this as a part of some plan that will involve these guys replacing current players rather than playing next to them.

I don't know about RIsssmiller more then his name, but are you guys sure its not a AHL move?

Like we have been in these situations before, Slats brings in some goon for the AHL -- like that goon from Phoenix, and some get a bit jumpy about it...

The Rangers made an offer to Rolston. He decided to sign with the Devils.

Remember, despite what some have said here, you can negotiate with more than one player at a time.

So there's competition...

on the bottom two lines. A guy here and there get sent down if need be or dealt. I'm guessing he has offers out there and the players are mulling those offers. There are a lot of UFAs not yet signed (and RFAs). Just because this is what got done, doesn't mean it's the focus. As I said, there are UFAs who aren't signed and I'm guessing they do have offers. So it's a wait and see.

i have no problem with it....although it is nerve-racking to sit here and try to understand the move before the others fall in behind them.....

think jagr is gone with this move as well as the sather looks like he is trying to add grit, size and solid forechecking which jagr isnt all about

Hockeydb has him listed as a centre. POssibly signed to play 3rd lign C meaning the Dawes and Drury are the top 6 LWs?

I wouldn't want Rolston at the age of 35 for that salary.

they should be after layers like...

Pavol Demitra, Jay Bouwmeester, David Vyborny

& also resign avery & rozy......

i'm not saying all of them, but those are the player we should be signing. bring the youth up to play on the 3rd & 4th lines..

Again, the Rangers were in on Rolston, but he chose the Devils.

When did this idea start that you can only focus on one player at a time? Surely you guys have followed enough of these 7/1 days to realize that's not the case at all.

Depth signings, good great.

I'll be patient to see if more falls into place.

But the Rangers NEED scoring and defense.

We have a LOT of holes to fill. We can't fill them all with premier FAs. Some have to be role players. Maybe some of these guys don't even make the team, but at least they give us options.

Let's see how the whole thing plays out before we start worrying.
