Looks like there won't be any Redden unless Slats starts moving some players.

I like it. He plays 25+ minutes a game so I don't think 5 mil is too much.

One year and one million too much
Hmmm - leaves about 16 million to play with
2 forwards
2 defenders
One backup goalie
Forget jagr + Sundin
Hmmm
Interesting...

Does this eliminate Orpik and Redden from consideration or just one of them and if one, who?

Now this is a deal to get upset about. Rozsival was ABYSMAL in the second half of the season and especially down the stretch. Now we are paying him 5 Mil for the next 4 years. Awesome Slats, just awesome.

Haha .....I think we all wanted a change but in the end it's better than losing out on everyone

Plus is Orpik still on the board

And Rozsival getting 5 is not crazy with how everyone else is getting paid............Jeff Finger got 3.5 million people

It's not like he didn't have a legitimate excuse that was surgically repaired this off-season.

I don't see how you can compare him to Harmlik. Rozsival is a more offensive defenseman while Harmlik is our most solid defensive defenseman. Not saying that Harmlik is better than Rozsival but both are kinda different.

I'm opposite on this one. 5 years for 4m$ would be imo better.

5m$ is a lot for Rozsi...

Gonna have to make a big signing now on D and fill in the holes up front with fliers on guys like Nagy.

Someone has to be there for Gomez.

Here is the glass half full take on things.......

Rozy is defintly worth 1.5 mill per year more than Jeff Finger. He is making 2.1 mill a year less than Campbell. Ideally I would have liked to bring him back for 4.25 - 4.50 range. This is the risk you take when you let your guys test the market.

i would consider tham both solid all-around defenseman who could play top minutes if needed but are more like #2/#3's

a little bit pricey, but close enough to fair value that i am happy. Hes a legit #2, and thats a good deal for a #2, especially one who we know can handle NYC.

I'd rather have had Redden at 5/30 than Rozy for 4/20. His play down the stretch left enough doubt that I would've hoped for a cheaper contract from him.
