All three of them are great energy guys, but it looks like the Rangers are trying to move away from a three-line scoring squad, to a four-line squad.
Agreed, they are bigger and tougher...............add Sjostrom to that group and it's much more skilled

Only a matter of time till we see some sort of trade on the Ranger front..............

I also think Avery and Jagr are coming back

I'm not going to jump on Sather for either Rissmiller or Voros. Voros is a mil per year and I don't think Rissmiller is going to cost much either. Along with Jamtin we've got more size and grit--our forward corps has been too small. Rangers still have plenty of money to try and get Jagr and another d-man--maybe Orpik signed.

I'm really starting to like this deal. Rissmiller is solid.

The D man was Redden...........I am ok with that but it leaves them think upfront..................

ohhhhhh man...........I think they almost HAVE to move Drury to Gomez wing

play Rissimiller at 3rd line C with Callahan and Prucha

Given the terms for Rozsie and Redden...anyone else get the sense that the terms for Rissmiller and Voros are $1MM per or less...?

I totally get Voros - like the signing.

Rissmiller, on the other hand, at 30 years old has no upside that I can see. I don't know him well - is he supposed to take Orr's spot? (And if so, what do we do with the 1 year left on that contract?)

I could definitely see Jagr back, and see Pavol Demitra as a Ranger.

Sundin won't be here, unless Sather can somehow pull what Lacroix did in 03 with Kariya and Selanne.

i'd rather have rolston at 4 yrs/$5m than be given rissmiller for free.

enjoy the king of untimely mistakes... though i suppose it's not his fault that RW liked to put him out in those moments of truth.

edit: riss does occasionally pull out a nice move out of NOWHERE. but those moments are few and far between.

Still better than Hollweg, guaranteed.

Hey, what did the Rangers shell out for this guy anyway...

I really dont like the 1 million per 3 years for the other 4th liner, if the same goes for Rissmiller, thats over 2 million in 4th line players. Doesnt make sense anyway you cut it, especially having a kid like Korpo that could potentially step in and play in the same role.

Quite confusing to me.

I really like this move. He doesn't give you much on the stat sheet, but whenever I watch a Sharks game, he's always right in the middle of things. The guy works his ass off. We've definitely upgraded our lower lines. I'm looking forward to seeing him here.

The only line Rissmiller should be on is the unemployment line.

You guys will learn to hate him.

Rissmiller is big. And soft and cuddly.

Putting him with Dubi would be a total waste and a huge step back for him. Dubi needs someone who can get the puck towards the net. That ain't Riss.

Again, i'll wait and see what Slats does before October, you guys are all jumping the gun with your lineup comments. Obviously we have too many guys on the 3rd and 4th lines, we'll see some departures before or during camp.

I have no problems with this signing, depth is good.

What I gathered was
* great hustle/effort
* bad at clearing the puck from own zone
* most are happy to see him go, opens a spot for a young player
* he's big, but soft
* looks like hugo weaving

Sounds like an upgrade on the fourth line in terms of skill. Has hustle but doesn't play to his size.
I asked my Sharks friend and she said,
Quote:
he definitely had spurts of offensive good stuff and then he would fade away to the background again

not too memorable honestly but i never got mad at him

yeah he was expendable

The "bad at clearing" is really in response to specific playoff incidents. It is like saying that Richter had a propensity for giving up goals from outside the blueline because of one shot, or Malik being a shootout god...
