If they move Staal I'm going to lose it... as will probably 90% of Ranger fans

7:37PM New York Rangers sign UFA defenceman Wade Redden to a six-year contract worth $39 million

That's 6$ million a year, not 6.5$.

I highly doubt Staal is going anywhere.

I'd rather Redden at 6.5 than Campbell at 7.1, that's all I can say right now.

Your D next year looks strong.

Any idea what the pairings will look like?

Okay...now people are being ridiculous. One of Tyutin or Girardi could very well be moved, especially for a top six forward. But, Staal IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!

does anyone think that rozsival was signed because of a backup plan if we didnt get redden, and now he'll be traded? i sure hope so. if im wrong we are even more cap screwed.

if it were Rozi's contract i'd be happier, but that's what the open market does... inflate prices..

sidenote: is it me or are GM's handing out long-term contracts left and right these days? i'm assuming they're thinking that the cap will go up and up and up and up and these numbers will look paltry in the future..

The one thing I like with Redden is at least we have some legitimate experience on the blue line now. Redden's been in the league for a while

So he'll probably be with Staal, right? Who's with Rozsival than. I think we should've passed on Rozy and signed Orpik.

But that extra .6 gives you spin-o-ramas.

I am not here to troll just my opinion as a Sens fan.

Redden has lost his game the last two years since his mom has passed away and he can't take the hits anymore. He is much slower too.

I hope he can rediscover his game in NY. I liked him here in Ottawa but he has been garbage the last two years.

I sincerely hope there is something up Slats' sleeve. I don't like this signing at all, honestly. Too much for too long.

im pretty happy with this, helps add some veterans to the team to replace shanny, straka, and if jagr doesnt resign... i could see backman staying on the team this year, and bobby getting a full season in hartford to take his spot next year.
