Well here's the new whipping boy. Agreed 100% with Kodiak, this guy got the dollars from his name not his play. Ugh.

I'm not sure how many teams out there would trade for Rosi at $5m

Hopefully it works. It's a lot of money and a lot of years--pair him with Staal.

Our D is looking nasty for next season.

Staal - Redden
Tyutin/Girardi - Rozy
Tyutin/Girardi - ?(maybe backman?)

kind of looks like one of tyutin or girardi might be moved shortly....

I'd pop Staal on that top pairing with Redden, but you guys know the squad better than I.

Doesn't Redden give us a legitimate PP QB? We've been needing that badly.

I guess this means Prucha is getting a shot at playing real minutes next season, and Korpedo probably has a good chance of making the team too.

Just like they said on TSN, Marc Staal will be licking his chops after seeing the deals Sather has given out to Rosie and Redden.

I doubt Girardi is the odd man out... it's going to be a money saving move so he's the least likely to go in that case. My guess is Tyutin AND Backman, whether it be both traded or Backman sent to Hartford with just Tyutin traded.

I'm pretty sure Roszival and Girardi played together a little bit last season, but my guess is:

Redden-Staal
Roszival-Girardi
Pock-Journeyman

I can't get excited about this signing. I think we needed to grab a young defenseman.

I think the change of scenery will do him good. He was getting killed in Ottawa. Other than that I don't know what to think. I think by reputation and potential this could a great signing, but we'll see when he's on the ice.

I was afraid of something like this. I really, really hope he is better than what the Sens fans say about him.

I agree, good fit for the team but too much money, too long.

I gotta admit, this made me laugh, well done.

I need time to take this all in before I comment on it.

I'll probably take a victory lap around my neighborhood if we pull that off and sign a couple wingers..

Like who? There really weren't young defensemen available.

The Ranger desperately needed leadership on the blueline. At the very least, Redden should provide that.

I'm sorry but this is not a good move. 6 years at 6.5M? Are you kidding me?

Rozsival and Redden must be laughing at the expense of Sather right now.
