Ideal Defensive Pairings?

So who are your ideal defensive pairings? I have read all of this stuff from Sens fans about how Redden operates best when he's got a solid stay at home dman by his side. Do we pair him with Staal? Maybe his solid defense meshes well with Redden's offense? Maybe Redden teaches Marc a thing or two about the power play?

What would you guys like to see?

Redden-Staal: Definitely. Allows Roszival to play on the 2nd pairing where he should excel. Redden with Staal should be a dynamite pairing; Staal is not your typical shut-down defenseman as he likes to rush the puck (and is good at it), but he is defensively solid. I think Redden can help bring Staal's game to the next level.

Roszival-Tyutin/Girardi: Believe it or not, Tyutin and Girardi can still play solid hockey without being by one another's side.

Tyutin/Girardi-Backman: As of now, this is it, but here's to hoping Backman is out the door.

Awards:
Redden-Staal
Tyutin-Girardi
Rozsival-FA

That could change depending on which (if any) UFA defenseman we sign.

I think the team is planning (and is extremely comfortable with):

Redden-Staal
Rozsie-Backman/Potter/Pock/Sangs/Del Zotto (1% chance, but every year there's a surprise 1st rounder...)*
Toots-Girardi

*whoever wins in camp

Having said that, I also think it's highly likely that some of our D corps gets moved in a trade - and as a result we don't yet know all the pieces in play.

Redden-Girardi
Staal- Rosival
Tutyin Backman

Toots and Girardi can be split up. It is good if they all feel comfortable with everyone.
2 good pp d pairings.
actually 3.

We better be done with the FA defensemen.

I'd wait and see what the defensive lineup looks like at the end of the week before you start blueprinting pairings.

LD - RD

Staal - Redden
Tyutin - Rozi
Potter* - Girardi
Backman*

*Other options: Hutchinson/Pock/Sauer/Sanguinetti

As much as I was not a fan of the terms of the signings yesterday...that's a damn impressive looking defense

girardi and rosy will never play on the same pairing... they are both Righthanded... they are our only right handed dmen.

Backman

I really liked Backman this year. He's got some offensive flare... which is perfect for a nice trade. I think he's going to get traded within the next few days, we will see.

Staal-Redden
Orpik-Rozsival
Hutchinson/Potter-Girardi

Trade Tyutin and Backman to make room for Orpik and a winger...

At first glance you keep Tyutin and Girardi together.......then Staal is perfect with Redden and then Rozi with a UFA or Potter/Pock

BUT Rozi needs minutes so I imagine its Toots with him

heck whatever works best in camp

Girardi was shaky for most of the season as a 2nd pairing dman, and was regularly beat by superstars when 1 on 1.... putting him on the first pairing would make him even more vulnerable. no way he deserves first pairing

I have a feeling this might instead be the pairings:

Redden-Rozsival
Backman-Staal
Tyutin-Girardi
