WHAT IF!!!

Just throwing this out there...........but What if Jagr does not come back and goes to Edm or Pitts...........I don't think it will happen

Then the Rangers waive Backman and have 11 million left under the cap

from their they could sign a FA or 2........or deal for one RFA

Demitra and Miettenen for example

May happen...........the Rangers would be a DIFFERENT team for sure

I'm already tying a noose in the event that he ends up in Pittsburgh

Now all the 16 year old badwagoners who were booing him will start magically cheering for him again.

I think Hossa signing for one year may make Jagr taking one year more acceptable

If Jagr doesn't come back I believe Sundin would become the next target and Sather would move very, very quickly.

If he goes back to Pittsburgh so be it. It would be an odd move considering how disrespectful the FANS are of him.

Business is business, but the Fans are truly where the heart is.

NY Loves Jagr!!!

but where is all of this extra cap space coming from? both would have to accept less money than other offers, and both would have to accept 1 yr deals to get bonuses.

I don't think so. After handing out 5 to Rozy and 6.5 to Redden, I don't think Slats is looking to land another huge contract.

He'll go after a playmaking winger with some scoring ability like Huselius, and probably make a trade for a winger to play with Gomez that falls in the 3-4.5 million range.

Sather isnt a knee jerk GM. He has a plan.

The plan right now is "waiting for Jagr to decide". There could be a threshold, but this is Jagr.

I guess you have to wait

Sundin already released a statement today that he's not going to sign anywhere anytime soon.

?

I said if Jagr doesn't come back then Sundin becomes the target and Sather moves quickly to get him signed...

I made no mention of both being on the same team.

They still have stockpiled bottom 6 guys. There should be a deal in the works.

Roster players + prospects/picks for a scoring winger

Lets not forget Shanny is waiting patiently as well

Sign #68

meh... the idea of Miettenen and Demitra doesn't do much to excite me. But we'll need some forwards from somewhere

So you think he isn't trying to land Jagr then?

Sounds like Jagr was waiting for Hossa, so hopefully we'll know something soon.
