Using your logic, the team has also invested long term in Hemsky. Does that mean he plays on the third line too?
Literally 'Non sequitur'

Do you have your thesaurus on your lap?

You slot players where they and the team have the best chance to succeed not on how they were aquired. That's just silly.

Cole probably played his best hockey last season when he was on the third line early in the year with Whitney-Cullen. When playing with Cullen, Cole was +11 -5 in 90:30 TOI. Playing on the third line allowed Cole to face softer defensive match-ups. His production dropped off when he was moved to the first line, then picked up later in the year after Stillman was traded (which allowed Cole to play on the top PP unit).

No, he wasn't, ACTUALLY. He was the first line right wing and has been for the last 3 years.

Don't know where you're getting your info but it's wrong.

Yeah. I've seen everyone pencil Cole in the lineup at LW and was confused. He's played maybe 5 games at LW since the lockout.

Interesting. I just assumed that he was a LW. Based on that overlooked tidbit...

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nilsson-Gagner-Cole
Schremp-Pouliot-Cogliano
Moreau-Brodziak-Pisani

Or

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Nilsson-Gagner-Cogliano
Schremp-Pouliot-Cole
Moreau-Brodziak-Pisani

3 solid scoring lines and 1 shut-down line

Either way, we have a deep team up front, and then we have a puck moving d-corps with Vis, Gilbert, and Grebs, and grit with Souray, Staios, and Smid or Peckham.

IMO we have an exceptional team to look forward to if there isn't a single move made from here on out.

I'd rather not split Cogs + Nilsson

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky (power vs. power)
Schremp-Gagner-Cole (secondary scoring )
Moreau-Brodziak-Pisani (checking line - slow)
Cogliano-Pouliot-Nilsson (soft scoring line - fast)
Reasoner

Man, GlenX would have been sweet in that lineup over Schremp/Moreau.
