Oilers VS Flames Dr Suess style

I do not like the Calgary Flames
I hope that they lose all their games
I will not cheer them in a car
I will not cheer them in a bar

I do so hate the Calgary Flames
I even hate their stupid names
Turek, Otto, Leopold, Loob
I hate the old, I hate the new

Grimson, Ranheim, Nilsson Kent
I could care less where they went
Suter, Saprykin, Nieuwendyk Joe
I'll never shout out "Go Flames Go"

Cheer for Sutter or Badger Bob?
I'd rather eat a lepers gob
I do so hate the Calgary Flames
Their ugly mascot's freakin lame

Their fans are all gunned up on swish
I hope they get crotch rot itch
Calgarians are the worst of all
Parking horses at the mall

Cows, chickens, sheep and goats
Velcro gloves and a pile of oats
What's the payroll? I don't care
We cheer here and they cheer there

Oilers fans, bandwagon jumping?
Joining in on the sheep humping
Cheer for Calgary? Where's your pride?
Tagging along on Calgary's ride

A team for which you would not cheer
Even if you drank your weight in beer?
Are the Oilers cheering for the Flames?
Of course not, not for any games

For those of you who turned your head
And tried to jump into their bed
Hide your face, turn your back
And get that bandwagon back on track

You want to cheer and have some fun
Be a third wheel on a play-off run
But when the puck drops next year
Gather up your Oilers Gear

Pack it all up in a van
And give it to a die hard fan
A fan who's not at all fair weather
Turn your back on the Oil Drop? Never!

If you cheer for them, get under the bus
You're not welcome here with us
A true Oil fan you'll never be
If you root root root for the flaming C

Rivals come and rivals go
But the Calgary Flames will always blow!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Didn't know there were so many Dr. Suess fans here.

I admit it, I jumped on the Flames bandwagon this spring.

However, the poem is unbelievably funny. Muchas kudos....

I actually saw a car with Oiler Flags today. It brought a tear to my eye and renewed my faith in Edmonton.

Flames are in the finals, Oilers are writing Dr Suess poems.

j/k

Well, I'll be honest here... if WE were in your shoes, I think you'd be saying likewise. As the biggest rival, what are you supposed to say?

It's great that Calgary is winning and I know Calgary fans love to point out that those Stanley Cup Championships were a while ago but they only make that argument because they never could match up with what Edmonton will always have and that is FIVE Championships. It is the same argument Canuck fans use because they have won nothing.

We also have more Grey Cups, including a five in a row dynasty. Again Calgary or any other team will have a hard time matching that in the modern era, and the Five Cups in Seven Years will probably be the last dynasty so again it will be very hard for any team to ever match that.

So let Calgary have its day, Edmonton has had a whole lot of of them!!

When Calgary catches up in Pro Championships one day you too will be the City of Champions.

Good thing for all involved, that one cup bra joke won't be used anymore.
Isn't Iginla a RFA with arbitration rights this year? Man imagine his case, Stanley Cup, check, Hart Trophy, Check, (maybe 2), Conn Smyth Trophy? check. Arbitrator 10 to 12 million. Iginla will have fun signing those checks.

What's the difference between Calgary and a bra?

A bra has two cups.

This might be the last time I have to post this.

If Tampa wins, we'll be able to continue saying it. Go Bolts Go.
