Anismov and Cherapanov

What are we gonna do with these two dynamic guys? Anismov had a strong season for the wolf pack... and we need to get Cherry over here... he is a special player. I'm lost because we already have so much young potential already on the squad, but more down in the pack and overseas! What are we gonna do with all this?

Anisimov may or may not be ready out of camp...and Cherry looks like he's playing one more year overseas.

But, we don't have a logjam of young ELITE talent.

But we don't need to make room until they are ready to play. For Cherry that looks to be a year from now, and Anisimov may or may not be ready to go this year. Room will be made as needed.

Anisimov needs at least part of the year in Hartford, unless he blows people away in camp.

Exactly...when them prime talent in the organization - Sanguinetti, Anisimov, Cherepanov, Del Zotto and Grachev - is ready, Ranger brass will find places for them.

yea, im just saying that slats should keep in mind that we've got two highhighhigh potential mini-gods in the farm.
i think that drury should shift to wing to open up a spot for AA this year. thats basically what i mean when i said "make room for them":juggling ppeople around giving oppurtunities to other players to succeed

DZ and Grachev won't be ready. Sang, Anis and Chere are 1 maybe 2 years away. The other two are at least 2 years away.

Talent

Yea, i guess this question will be the hot topic at this exact time next year... still it's inevitable we are going to have to get rid of some young talent.. I wish we could keep it all but that's not possible. Greg Moore is another guy who will be really good. Good size and vision...

you're probably the only person on this board to think that.

I said "WHEN" the prime talent is ready; I didn't say that prime talent is ready now.

And I'm saying that if AA shows he deserves a spot this year the organization will make a spot for him. They aren't going to keep a stud down in Hartford to simply waste away. The key is the player needs to prove he's ready for the NHL game, day in and day out. A lot of guys can come up and look good for a game or two, but it takes more than that to earn a full time roster spot. Believe me, the team has their eyes on these kids, and has a plan for them.

I'm calling it now:

Anisimov will be on the 2008/2009 New York Rangers roster by November at the very latest. I'm anticipating him making the team out of camp, however.

07-08 season stats for Greg Moore: GP:72 G:26 A:40 P:66 +/-:27 PIM:31

Ht: 6ft, 1
Wt: 210 pounds!

Is that helping a little bit? Watching him in the preseason games is what made me think he could be good... We will see him this pre season too.

I'm with you on that one...Renney gushed about him at the prospect camp...in typical Renney down-playing style. AA is this year's Dubinsky.

I completely agree. I'm playing it safe by saying November at the latest, I think.

I really do believe he'll be on our opening night roster.

Since many publications had him as a 1st round talent (some as high as 13 to Buffalo, I believe) and the fact that he only fell out of the top 40 picks because of the transfer agreement.

Jon,

Do you think Anisimov has a higher upside than Dubinsky? And I haven't seen the kid play much at all, and I know player comparisons are difficult, but who does the kid remind you of? Finally, what do you think the kid can score consistently in his prime?

Thanks, appreciate it.
