If there is one complaint I have, I wish Gainey could have gotten in on Rene Bourque for a 2nd round pick. He would have looked great on our 3rd line... but what are you gonna do.

I don't want Huselius..Simply stating that the UFA's are quickly disapearing and Montreal has yet to make the splash we've a;; been hearing about! Holy crap people take a pill.

All I said is that I'm hoping for Demitra and or Jagr...LOL This board is really uptight!

Sounds like a better deal than the Ryder one

Huselius would've gotten destroyed in Montreal. It would've been Samsonov all over again.

We had no need for a unidimensional streaky and flashy softy so Huselessius wasn't exactly an option.

Huselius was better than Tanguay in Calgary last year, makes less money and we wouldn't have had to give anything anything to get him.

The main difference is that Tanguay has 1 year left, and Huselius has 4. I'm not sure if that difference is worth a 1st and 2nd round pick.

Thoughts ?

Tanguay had a bad year but he's a better overall player than Huselius. He has been more consistent throughout his career and is also better defensively. Plus like you said Tanguay is a lower risk and if he bust we just let him walk next year.

The 1st round pick is not really important.

Who wouldn't have a better season playing with Iginla and Langkow instead of Owen Nolan?

i think timmin's said it best, if we kept the 1st round pick and drafted we wouldve got what we projected to be a 3rd line player but by trading the pick we picked up a legitimate top 6 player

Columbus is offering inflated contracts (Commodore, Huselius) so they can reach the cap floor, there still 5 million short.

Commodore yes but considering Ryder got 4 milion a year Huselius is a steal at 4.5 IMO

Boring day so far on the UFA front.

Washington Capitals sign UFA forward Keith Aucoin to a two-year contract. As per TSN

Speculation - Boyle Deal

Take it for what it's worth. The Boyle Buzz has legs, and will likely be moved to either Ottawa or Philadelphia. However, our friend Eklund says (http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=16067), as usual, that Montreal is in the mix too, with San Jose and Buffalo.

So, I just think Bob makes his job. He might have called Jay Feaster, inquiring whether the Boyle Buzz is true. But I doubt the Habs made a serious trade proposal to TB. The contrary might be however possible.

Let's just speculate here. What's the proposal?

I think Boyle is too much money for this team, considering the position he plays....

Not too much for next year... but down the road he's too much.

We're mentioned in every rumour because that way he gets more hits. Trading for Boyle makes no sense for us.

I know that. That's why I doubt Gainey offered a proposal to Feaster. But from a TB point of view, Montreal is a pool of great assets, so I wouldn't be surprised if Boyle is offered to Montreal.

What is the offer?

It was said earlier that Boyle wasn't going to be moved because he didn't want to waive his no trade clause.

12:28pm ET -- Okay, song's over... back to hockey! And guess what, Boyle speaks! He told our buddy Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune what he wants to stay in Tampa. "I don't plan on waiving it," he said, refering to his no-trade clause. Maybe that'll quiet things down? from TFP

as for the habs, whatever our equivalent to mezsaros and vermette is
