You never have enough D. I like this deal and wouldn't be surprised to see O'Byrne moved or even Fisher at the deadline next year or even now if Gainey can pull of a trade

PJ Stock and Tony just said that Grabovski was not well liked at all in the dressing room.

Habbies, I need the low down on Grabovski... can;t say I have seen him play much... or noticed him when he has.

I'd appreciate any info.

Well after the stunt he pulled I can't really blame them.

As for the guy who wanted info on Grabovski, he's a small, fast, skilled center with pretty good offensive skills. His size and strength are the only things you should be worried about.

Didn't the Habs acquire a 5th round pick in the Tanguay trade ? Maybe that was who they were really aiming for with one of their picks.

Commentary by McKeen's Hockey Prospects
06/14/2008 - Just a year removed from playing a low level of hockey in Michigan High School, Pateryn blossomed this season with Ohio and was the teams' lone representative at the USHL All-Star Game. That developmental upswing he displayed is a positive, as is the fact that he is committed to a great program like the University of Michigan. He has no glaring weaknesses and really matured as a two-way defender this year, although he is still a bit of a neophyte as a player. Bank on his physical-defensive game translating to the higher levels, but he will need to work on his discipline some.

Does that confirm that the compensation for Sundin was in fact Grabs?

He's very fast, but super weak and goes flying whenever he gets hit. He has decent offensive skills and lots of potential but he needs to keep his head up. A bit of a headcase off the ice.

I'm very disappointing in seeing him go, he had a lot of potential and was one of the most fun players to watch on ice.

(Here's to hoping he signs in Russia, and this was Gainey's **** you to Fletcher for Sundin not signing.)

Lots of skills, lots of speed, small size. I suppose you could compare him to Sergei Berezin.

First of all, I have no idea who Pateryn is so I can't really judge this deal but I'm not a fan of trading Grabovsky even though I think he got some decent return.

Be afraid people, Grabovski could end up being their number 1 center by lack of any other decent centers.

His potential is sky high, we just didn't have the patience (or the time) to help him reach it.

A return from Grabovsky !

Good deal anyway, why keep something you don't really need. A second round pick isn't bad in my opinion.
