It's possible. The 5th we got from Calgary was 138th overall and we picked Trunev with it.

I guess we can assume Grabs was probably going to be the comp for Sundin. I doubt it was a draft pick (as we've seen the Leafs still seem to enjoy tossing them around)!

Well Grabs wasn't going to see much time anyway. Maybe he said he wouldn't play for Hamilton again and didn't want to sit in the press box.

I guess I'm in the minority, in that I don't mind giving up a kid who will probably pan out along the lines of Josef Balej for a 2nd round pick.

Well Pateryn got picked 128th, I think they would have wanted him with the 138th and Trunev with the next pick or something like that but that's just speculation.

On the Henry signing, seems a fine addition for the Hamilton d-men corps.

On the Grabs trade, don't care too much about him, still I just love the 2nd round pick for 2010 even though I would have preferred a 2009 pick...As far as Pateryn is concerned, it just follows the path to go with americans. But I didn't think we needed more depth on D.....unless we're ready to deal some for forwards...

Pateryn's description makes me think of a Mark Mitera type of player.

I like the trade. Plus, A. henry is a good addition (prob. to play in AHL), but I really liked him with Minesota a few years back

Henry has played almost 200 NHL games and played almost 200 AHL games for Hamilton.

Definitely a nice little depth signing and he's familiar with Hamilton already.
