Gary Coleman is too small too; do I see him in the NHL ? No.

What's my point ? Gary Coleman sucks.

Good deal for us. I doubt he stays with the leafs for a long period of time... He's probably gonna come back to russia to play for the new russian league after being scratched a few times...

You guys joking??

This is a great deal. We get a 2nd rounder from Toronto which will be a high second rounder in the best draft in a while. And we get a prospect.

Grabovski didnt fit anywhere. He is too small to be an effective center in this league. DOnt forget for those who are impressed with his scoring touch in the AHL, that Jason Ward once won the MVP of the AHL.

We gave up an asset that we couldnt use for 2 assests.

Whats the problem??

Not too much talk in here about the Desjardins signing...

Sounds like a pretty promising young goaltender.

Henry seems like a perfect partner for Carle or Weber down on the farm. 6'5' 200 pound stay-at-home lefty defenceman. Lots of experience.

At least they can be pushed around and still be on their skates. And comparing him to all of those players makes me vomit.

This is a very good deal by Bob Gainey! Of course I would rather see Grabovski going to a western team, but the return is inesperate for a guy that has no chance to become an offensive center on our team. A 2nd rounder is a very good asset for a future trade. See, with the second rounder acquired in the Huet Trade we were able to trade for Tanguay. This 2010 pick might be a very interesting asset at the trade deadline this year. This Pateryn kid I don't know, but i'm pretty sure Timmins had something to say about him.
All things considered, Gainey looks like a genius with this trade.

Despite their smallish stature, Koivu, Plekanec, Zetterberg and Datsyuk can play in traffic, take a hit and stay on their feet. Can you honestly say the same about Grabovski when he tries to compete against NHLers?

Because people are complaing about a guy who 90% of the people here said was too small and not strong enough and wouldn't ever make it in the NHL and we got a 2nd round pick which could be between 31-40th overall and another prospect.

"Such a good prospect"? Come on...he was tearing up the AHL as an overager and couldn't stick in the NHL here. Yes he could be good, but let's not go overboard. Besides if he does great with Toronto, good for him. We had no room for him here so it's not like he would've blossomed into the same player getting a few shifts a game on our fourth line. Unless you wanted to unseat Koivu, Plekanec or Chipchura to give him his chance.

Wow its amazing to see the reactions of Habs fans. It seems that people either loved Grabovski and thought he had tremendous potential or did not think much of him and thought he would never crack the Habs lineup...

What was the incident on the road trip that made him unpopular in the dressing room?

Can anyone fill me in please

WOW!!! Just WOW... A 2nd for Grabovski is great!!! Moreover, Pateryn seems to be a intriguing prospect... I'm sure Timmins had something to say in this trade...

It's the first case of trading Timmins' prospect... We have too many prospects? No problem, call Fletcher...

It's 2010, not 2009. We don't know how that draft will evolve, nor do we know where the Leafs will be at in 2010....

Good return for us but I'm a bit scared -- Grabovski has a hell of a skill set. If he pans out for the Leafs we'll be looking like idiots

Exactly. No place for him on the roster and no way he was going back to the AHL. But I'm still disapointed we had to let him go.

After being scratched against the Coyotes he jumped on a plane to LA so that he could discuss his future with his agent.
