If it's for one year then this is a great signing.

If Jagr was is really on the decline it wouldn't be crazy to assume he would only put up about 60-65 points next season... and he wants 7 - 7.5 million for that. Sather isn't as crazy as some of us think

Guess this is a farewell to Jags if true.

Canuck Fan here, if this is true, I think you Rangers will be very happy with him.

Most Canucks fans are just so used to losing, we just blame the captain and highest paid player.

I'm really going miss Nazzy, I wish him the best and hope he can return to PPG player in the east.

And in the last two years under AV, his offense has dipped, but defensively his game has improved a ton since the Crawford era.

If this is true - the Rangers stay away from Jagr and get another solid d-man-

I am a very happy man.

I'd take Naslund at $4.5 over Satan at $3.5 eight days a week.

I dont know if this site is 100% accurate, they said the rangers gave Jagr and offers of 4 mil for 1 year so..... maybe this signing is only for 3 mil per and then we sign JJ....i can dream

Sather would never sign Satan after Drury supposedly told him to get the hell lost in Buffalo

I agree though

Not my fav Swede by any stretch, has been sliding downhill for years now.
Maybe he can get a new start in NY and earn his money.

if this is true this is solid signing........although he isnt more than a second line winger at this point in his career....we arent getting young naslund, he will be what 36?.....expect 60 points or so while giving leadership

$4.5 seems like a lot for a guy who only managed 25 goals and 55 points last season

He wasn't exactly playing with any high-level talent in Vancouver. He played with the Sedin's a little bit, but mostly on the 2nd line. 25 goals and 55 points in that system is a miracle.

Put the fact that Avery got $4 million/year in the open market into perspective. I'll take Naslund for 4.5 mill over Avery for 4 mill any day.

Yup.
i agree, however i dont think people should be thinking he will put up a point per game....he is another year older and i think if he puts up 60-65 points it is a successful signing.....i am in no way saying that i would be surprised if he got 75 points, however i dont think people should EXPECT it

I'm not expecting a 40 goal season, but 30 goals is by no means unattainable. It not Naslund's skill that was diminishing, it was the quality of players surrounding him.
