Kalinin? Way to take the wind out of the Naslund signing Slats.

Can someone say "welcome back old habits?"

I'm not very happy at all by these moves. It's as if half our team from last year has been replaced by free-agents. And as far as I'm concerned, Naslund is over the hill.

Naslund is over the hill if u compare him to what he was but if u look at his numbers he still puts in 25 goals a yr

How many yrs is Kalinen

Me too. I remember that he had a hernia or a groin problem in 2006-07 and was valiantly trying to play on one leg. Last year I don't know all of the specifics but he only played in about half of the Sabres' games. Of course, he's not old (28) and remember, that's how we found Rozsival on the cheap.

A lot of new faces.

But this was going to be the case anyway pretty much, losing Shanny, Straka, and Avery most likely...

Bye bye Jagr.

Whoa.

Where does this leave some of our young guys? I'm assuming Naslund will be #1 LW, Dawes #2, then what? We have Sjostrom, Prucha, Voros, Fritsche, Hollweg, etc. for the bottom two spots.

So I guess it's clear that no rookies will make the team (i.e. Byers and Moore), but then where does that leave the other guys I mentioned who aren't put in the lineup? My guess is Prucha gets dealt now.

Apparantly Hank was one of the deciding factors for Naslund

If this works out... thanks Hank

Unfortunately in this new messed up league, you gotta do things like this. What are we supposed to do, not make big signings because of mistakes we made 6 years ago.

Agreed and PLEASE...........Lundqvist is only 25.....Staal and Girardi are young plus Sanguinetti and others are coming

Upfront their is Dawes and Dubinsky who are real important and they just added Zherdev which is huge........Also Fritsche, Prucha, Callahan, Sjostrom ,Vorors ,etc are all young players

How many over 30 yr olds does the team have?................big deal they signed and traded for some guys , most of them are young and will get better

A one year deal is not going to kill this team. And with Gomez, he could be really good.

I don't think Prucha has to get dealt

It really depends on what they want to do..........if u assume Drury stays at C then

Gomez, Drury, Dubinsky, Betts

Naslund, Dawes, Prucha, Fritsche, Voros

Zherdev, Callahan, Sjostrom, Rissmiller, Orr

I think the best idea is to move Drury to the Rightwing on a Dubinsky and Dawes line and then have the others battle for 3rd and 4th line minutes................Fritsche and Rissmiller can play C

Doesn't seem as bad as I thought it would be.

Maybe it's cuz I was hoping Jagr would be in that equation too...

Nigel Dawes is a very good player and will mature into a 20 goal scorer if not a 30 goal scorer.
