Hmm, I was interested in Kalinin. I hope he came relatively cheap.

Kalinin any good? He's pretty big and yet another Russian.

This team is gonna be loaded with Russians, North Americans, and Swedes.

If this is true, and Naslund doesn't turn his game around, I won't like the signing.

kalinin is pretty good when he is on....horrible when he is off...hopefully renney and pearn can help him and get him more consistent....if he can be consistent he is a solid #5

TSN.ca says that Naslund is a two-year contract.

I think Kalinin was brought in, not only to shore up the holw left by Tyutin, but to help assimilate Zherdev to the area, being the only other Russian on the actual roster.

Hutchinsson next?
Sign RFAs Sjöström, Dawes and the new guy from Columbus...
Then trade some of the plethora of middle line talent we now posses
for some nice pics in next years loaded draft

If Kalinin is consistent he is a possible #2, not #5.

He has all of the tools to be a franchise defensemen and the mental confidence of an ECHL player.

I think this is a great signing and even though I think (along with many of you guys) that the Redden signing was a bit much I think the Rangers will contend for the East title this season.

Lundqvist has a defense now that is much upgraded and the forwards are even quicker.

Good job by the Rags.

I was thinking the same thing. If Zherdev is an introvert like some CBJ fans seem to suggest, you can't have him be the only guy who speaks his language on the roster. The kid would be miserable before camp even opens.

Naslund confirmed it's two years.

4:43pm ET - Naslund confirmed that he's signed a 2-year deal. He said he's received offers from other teams for longer terms, but wanted to go to the Rangers. He said, "I wanted to be signing with a Cup contender. I think we’ve all seen how tight it is, the race, and it’s very difficult to pick a winner before the playoffs start. I believe that just looking at the history, the Rangers are going in the right direction and I want to be a part of that."

can't say i'm happy w/ Naslund getting a two year deal but overall i am pretty satisfied.

I think we are basically done now. Our #6 dman will be between Pock, Potter and Sangs. Probably will be Potter and Pock be the 7 dman.

Our forward situation is rather tricky though. We do have an abundance now. It will be interesting to see if there is another trade to maybe upgrade a little.

WOOO HOOOO

Hes got a great attitude too this guy, he wants to win a cup and hes a good teammate.

The leaders are now Gomez, Drury, Naslund and Redden.

Jagr, Shanny and Straka - Thanks for the hard work, memories and bleeding Ranger blue.

I hope they are done, lot of new faces.

STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM SHANNY AS POSSIBLE.

Even if he wants a 1 yr. min. salary.

Well that's a spot on description of Christian Bäckman...

Well, he wouldn't say like: "I really wanted to sign with DET or PIT, but they didn't want me so I had to settle for NYR."

At the end of the Canucks season, Naslund said he wanted to go to a place where he could enjoy playing again. Things got pretty dumb around here the previous couple of seasons. He's not the most vocal guy on the team but he leads by example.

i dont understand what people are so upset about with the naslund signing?...........

he had 55 points last year on a HORRIBLE vancouver team while he was playing with NO ONE......IMO he can still put in 30 goals a year which is greatly needed and still has good vision.....all he needs is someone to carry the puck up the ice because he isnt a puck carrier(gomez/zherdev)

Who wears 19 now? I'm guessing Gomer will keep it.
