It doesn't. (Flames fan here)

First 3? I was going to say first 2 and Sarich.

To Florida:
Moulson
Teubert/Hickey
2nd

To LA:
JayBo
3rd

Any thoughts?
Kings hang up at the mention of Teubert and/or Hickey being mentioned...

Sabres Defense with more than 1 year experience that Ruff feels confident in ..

Tallinder
Lydman
Spacek

2 rookies who have upside that may get a lot of playing time

Sekera
Weber

Then we have Nathan Paetsch who is at best a 7th.

SOMEONE HELP US!!

What would it take to get Cam Barker out of Chicago?

In Dallas, we're up to our elbows in quality defensemen.

In order:
Zubov
Boucher
Niskanen
Grossman
Fistric
Daley
Robidas
Khomitski

Boucher and Robidas are the most available.

The Flyers aren't overloaded on D...they would definitely be buyers.
They have:

Timonen, Coburn, and Parent. Timo and Coburn are legit, Parent could develop into a top 4 guy, but right now he's probably no better than a third pairing d-man.

Then they have:

Hatcher, Jones, Eminger, Vanaan with Nate Guenin and Danny Syvret as our most NHL ready minor leaguers. Right now Hatcher, Jones, and Vanaan are third pair guys at best while Eminger is barely NHL worthy.

So that means the Flyers have Timonen, Coburn, 0 2nd pairing worthy defensemen, and 5 3rd pairing worthy guys.

Well, the Sharks just sent you Rivet.

And for those interested, the Sharks probably still need to move McLaren. And I wouldn't be surprised if Lukowich goes too. The Sharks biggest need right now is salary space and cap space, so think picks and prospects (especially since they have now essentially gutted their prospect pool and have are already short picks for the 09 draft), not NHL players.

Come on now! Give the Oil a touch of credit here. They aren't striking fear into the hearts of the NHL but its a decent core.

Lubomir Visnovsky
Sheldon Souray
Tom Gilbert
Denis Grebeshkov
Steve Staios
Ladislav Smid
Mathieu Roy
Theo Peckham

Actually we could use a veteran D too. Whats Ulanov upto these days?

Boynton

Maybe it's already been mentioned but the Pens as well...

Ryan Whitney
Sergei Gonchar
Brooks Orpik
Mark Eaton
Kris Letang
Hal Gill
Darryl Sydor
Rob Scuderi

Could do without the last two and have Goligoski as the man shuttling back and forth in case of injuries. Sydor is just...i just hope Shero can get rid of him.

There are plenty of names been mentionned here that are attractive at all. Dont list names for the sake of it.

It's like me saying Montreal have extras D-Men and coming with a list on which Dandenault is list as an nhl-defenseman...

The thing alot of you dont seem to understand is that it usually takes 8 dmen to get through a season with injuries. Unless the bottom 2 make way to much money or the team has serious cap problems, alot of them want 8 dmen around.
