If we still own his rights and he is not in the NHL, he remains a prospect talent for the team. End of discussion. If we are rating guys by where they stand today, I am only 1 of 4 who has voted for Korneev. The guy was on the Russian National team at the WC, where was David Fischer? Playing Guitar Hero in his parents basement.

One thing to consider though, is say a guy like Trunev, who was 11 years old when Korneev was drafted. Seems sort of unfair to rank a guy that's less then 2 months away from his 7th season as a pro vs a kid that's say still 17 or 18. I would think that if say Locke or one of the other Hamilton prospects was going into their 7th season in Hamilton, people would not consider him a prospect.

Korneev is a solid hockey player and the Habs have shown success in drafting Russians, especially defensemen, when you consider that at one point we had 4 drafted defensemen at Russia's prelim camp for the WC's.

But people will see it differently depening on various factors.

I myself am voting on upside rather than a safe prospect.

It's why I'll vote for Trunev over Kristo. Kristo is the safer, more legit prospect.. but Trunev has been said to posses a higher upside.

He would have been my first choice by far.
This guy was on the regular roster of the world champoins (Russia).

If you put his name put him at the first poll.
He is the best and would have come in the in the top-3.

BTW, What is the average % of the guy in position 2 or 3 in your list of choice?
there is a link to each poll winners on the first post of this and any poll
