This contract just shocked me when I saw it. I had seen Finger play against the Canucks (scored one beauty against them), but he didn't look like much more than a late bloomer who was a capable 5-6 defencemen. I can't beleive the Leafs gave him so much money considering how little he has accomplished in the NHL. One good, not even great season, and this guy is making the same amount of money that Mattias Ohlund and Willie Mitchell are making, just to name a couple of players.
You're certain no other team was interested? Please prove that.
Shouldn't we wait until, gee, I don't know, Finger has played a single game for the Leafs before we dismiss his contract as a waste of money? Finger might turn out to be a total bust, but this rush to judgment is ridiculous.
How many games did you watch him play last year? Ron Wilson coached a conference rival. On that basis alone, I'm willing to give Finger the benefit of the doubt until we're well into next season.
If other teams were interested and the bidding got to $3.5 million, the Leafs could have walked away. We'll probably never figure out what others offered but considering Finger's record, I can't imagine anyone else offered that much.
Apparently that other poster thinks Boyle is some kind of demigod and someone probably needs to deflate his expectations before he hurts himself.
Lmao what are you, Dr. Phil? I made a comment that I'd be willing to be a large majority of posters agree with, that Boyle is significantl better overall than McCabe and Kubina, and then you come in and act like you're the demigod with your ridiculous interpretation of my one comment.
