Curious:

How much does he get if he plays in the NHL? and how much in the AHL? What kind of salary cap hit do we take?

Basically, what is his contract, 1 year 1 mil?

Another great signing

perfect goaltender depth, we needed someone to scare halak a bit, he thinks hes going after the number 1 spot, which is motivation enough, but now, hes got to look BEHIND his shoulder as well as in front...

i dont care what happens with halak now.. he is a great goalie im convinced..but, ..now its either he plays great for us, or denis replaces him, or halak gets traded, for a pretty good amount im thinking, nothing CRAZY, but , GM's like halak thats for sure..

You think?

I honestly think Desjardins is the starter in Hamilton. If an NHL goalie gets hurt at the beginning of the season, Denis will get the call of course. But if its later in the season and Desjardins is playing well, he'll get the call.

Check the numbers out with Coumbus in 02-03

2002-03 Columbus NHL 77 27 41 8 4511 232 2404 5 3.08 .903

Not bad at all.

5 shutouts that year

Well, as a long suffering Jackets fan, I can tell you that Marc's a class guy. He could just never get over the hump in Columbus. Showed flashes of being a number 1 guy, but in reality, he's a solid number 2.

Because of the situation here, he might have been pushed along in his development due to need....... So I think a stint in the AHL, where he can keep his minutes up will be good for him.

I think it's a great signing for you guys.....even if it is only for depth.

I love this signing and honestly, I think he will be the starter there so that the Canadiens can clearly see if he is back in shape to be their backup either this year or next year, with Halak eventually serving as a trade chip. Denis even answered that question on CKAC and openly said he would have no problem being Price's backup in the future.

Having a former legit NHL starter as your third string is a very, very good thing! Now we have strong goaltending depth to go along with an already strong roster.

Good, we're now up 4-3 in terms of former Avalanche goalies employed vs. former Habs goalies employed by the Avalanche.

Thibault - Fiset - Aebischer - Denis * vs. * Roy - Théodore - Hackett (goalie coach).

(Philippe Sauvé was also briefly employed by the Bulldogs.)

Now, let's get Craig Billington as assistant goalie coach !

We screwed you again, Pierre Lacroix !

I don't think I post here enough.

Then again, that's probably a good thing.

Should be a good signing in the role he was signed for with you guys. He played enourmous minutes for us in a couple seasons and then started to get outplayed by Leclaire. He is very VERY prone to the soft game losing goal (see dump in slapper from center ice)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KE51_hj4BPA

Wish I could say goals like this were uncommon but they were not.

PS. Though it is not related to his play this guy is a total ***** off the ice. Be careful of your children asking for his autograph.
