Owen Nolan is now the newest member of the Minnesota Wild. However, he is also a right winger. We already had 2 right wings in Gaborik and Bouchard. We signed 2 right wings this offseason already in Miettenen and Weller. We also have 4 left wings too in Brunette, Parrish, Veilleux and Boogaard. Something is just not adding up. Either Parrish is getting bought out or traded OR somebody else is on the trading block and it's as good as done i.e. Gaborik? PMB? Someother forward?
Miettenen is a left handed right wing, so I could see Parrish getting the boot to make room and Miettenen moved to the left side. I could also see the Wild moving PMB for some picks and prospects to make room on the right side.
Notwithstanding, something has to give. Also, according to CapCentral the Wild still have $7 million in available cap space, but we still have to account for Bouchard and Veilleux's arbitration awards. I'm not a math wizard, but buying out Parrish and then paying Step and PMB and we would be all used up I think.
Conclusion: PMB is a goner IMO. Unless we're moving Gabby. Nahhhhhhhhhh!
The person you quoted talks about buying out Parrish, but unless I am mistaken that ship has sailed till next june?
He says in the end that even with the buyout of Parrish the Wild would have to spend all their remaining cap space on Veilleux and PMB thus it would seem likely that PMB or (less likely) Gaborik would be gone as no GM wants to be right at the cap when the season starts
