His last year of junior numbers are amazing!

365pim along with a 0.5ppg.

Anyone from Halifax saw him?

Edit: That might mean Henry will be the 7th D with the big club...or the Bulldogs owner told Bob he want a lot of fighters.

Edit2: Kostopoulos probaly told Bob to get him.

Does this mean one of Hamilton's goons is coming up?

Laraque, Henry, Flinn...***? What did Bob eat? The fun part is they all seem to be able to play some hockey too...We can use that.

Quite a shift in philosophy from last year...must be a theme that came out while meeting the veterans after the season. Draft skill players and keep enforcers around to protect them...

Yup. He's 2 years older than my brother, but they played a lot of hockey in the same league (before he made the Q) and I believe once on a "Nova Scotia" team that went to either Quebec or Montreal.

He was a dooshbag back then, but that was half of his life ago. I was surprised to see that he's 6'4" now. He was always pretty solid but holy crap. And he was always tough as nails. Had a really decent year in Halifax, but then disappeared a bunch.

But yeah, don't expect to see him in the NHL lineup unless Laraque is hurt and Carbs feels like he needs that kind of presence. His skills are a bit, well, terrible.

I don't see Flinn dressing many games but my take on this signing is that BG and Carbo want to change the identity of them team and also to give the young guys and some of the more finesse players an edge and let them know that they have some real muscle in the organization when they need it. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Carbo instructs Henry, Laraque and Flinn to pick a few fights in the fall camp and teach some of the kids how to handle themselves. I still remember the fight Lapierre had with Talbot, he had no idea what he was doing other than he was so pissed that he just wanted to tune his lights out.

Flinn is pretty scary looking with that shaved head and facial hair. Seems like a decent fighter but loses his balance easy for a big guy. But it would be worth every penny to see him pound Thornton and those other slugs in Beantown.

And so does Latendresse. I would put both as roommate...

Flynn seems good but he does not have the stability of Laraque on the ice when fighting.
Laraque is so strong and stable on the ice, he fights like a Workbench while on skates.

I am sure that Laraque can give him some tricks.

I saw what Chara did to Latendresse in PO, this may have to do something with that.
Habs management believed referee could stop it.
But obviously, Chara hit on Kovalev was as dirty as it can be. Chara acted like a goon and was not penalized.
Referee can't do it, so they are getting the weapons.

Laraque is a tough fighter but he is also totally fair.

Flynn had a freak incident but he seems very good as an enforcer.
With 0.5 ppg in his junior makes us believe he can play hockey...
0.5 ppg with 365 penaly minutes. He must be doing other stuff well...
I hope he can improve on the hockey side in Hamilton.

Perfectly in line with Carbo, I don't want a goon only, he has to play hockey.
Now they need to develop his hockey.
A goon who can play hockey is a presence felt on the ice all the time...
Don't read too much into that. That was a really good Mooseheads team on which players were approaching 150 pts on the season. To put this all in perspective, Jody Shelley (during junior) showed much more offensive talent than Flinn and look at him now. Basically imagine a player who was almost as good at enforcing as Shelley, but isn't as (offensively) talented as Shelley (that's obviously a VERY relative scale). That's what we have gotten in Ryan Flinn.

Hopefully it will be more fun than last season turned out to be (although it had its moments). However, if next season turns out like this...

I'm not sure about it specifically being fighters, but I know he was interested in bringing in more players specifically for use in Hamilton (like the Chicago Wolves do) to try and avoid seasons like the one just passed and the season before they won the Cup. Pending which veterans return, the Dogs could need plenty of experience next year with the likely crop of 1st/2nd year players there.

i wanna say shelley was actually really clutch back then because i vaguely remember him winning a surprising amount of games in OT and what not

good move, will show the system from the farm to the NHL with an enforcer.. also a good insurance if anything happens to Laraque, maybe also a sign to Carbo, that want it or not, that Gainey plan to with an enforcer on the team.

Is it just me or is that a 12 year old girl drinking beer on your avatar?

Not that I'm against severe underage drinking, just inquiring.

Laraque's training camp/preseason victims tend to wind up at the hospital.
