So my predictions.... they were uhhhh....

http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=1...0&postcount=74

That was what... 7 weeks ago?

So to recap:

Quote:
Ryder - Gone Check
Smolinski - Gone Check
Brisebois - Gone Check
Streit - Offer 2 year deal at max of 2 million... if he says no then Gone. Check

UFA
1. Make a serious play for either Sundin or Selanne. Check

2. Address 4th line grit: 1. Craig Weller (I think he might be too tough for our coaches liking... ie: he runs the risk of actually winning a fight). 2. Roy/Hordichuk Check... Laraque, even better

3. Make a trade. Check Bait: Chipchura, Halak, high draft picks in 2008 and/or 2009 Check
Target: Forward with size who will actually stand in front of the net and screen the ****ing goalie... Jokinen, Boyes, Horton, Cole. Not quite... then again Jokinen was moved for a reasonable price as I said he would be.

Even Kovalev said it... this past season was going to be his best shot to win the Cup again. He knows he's not getting any younger and nor is Koivu. We can not wait 3-4 years to make that serious push... we need to make it this summer. Check

I don't want to be harsh but most of those were common sense.

Not to discredit your guesses, but everyone could have said those FA's were gone, Gainey goes after 4th line muscle every offseason, and he said he'd make a trade....but yah good job either way

Our own Nostradamus comes through once again with mind-boggling accuracy.

How you figured Smolinski, Ryder and Streit would be gone-I'll never know. Hell, you even predicted a trade! Well, you didn't get who would be traded right...but you predicted a trade nonetheless!

I am in awe. Sheer awe of you.

PS: Brisebois is needed as the 7th D to help run the PowerPlay.

Hmmmmm... Common sense eh?

Yet some wanted Ryder back... some wanted Streit back as well, even at a big contract. Heck I just read a thread about bringing Smoke back. And Brisebois.. well we know a few bozos on here want him back.

And then I named only two big time free agents as possibilities... one of which is officially being courted.

The only other FAs I named were enforcers... despite Carbo saying that he didnt see the need for one.

And then I said there would be a trade... for a forward (despite many saying that we should focus on defence given our already vaunted offense).

And then I said that Gainey would be willing to part with a first rounder or second rounder to get it done, again contrary to popular opinion.

Now perhaps you think that each of these events own their own is common sense.. whatever... but the combination of that many of them is called great speculation.

Speaking of common sense... which is more likely:

A) I can tell the future
B) I know more about hockey than (enter name here).

Thought so...

Predicting a bid for Sundin when he was rumoured to go to Montreal was sheer balls, man. Epic, round, Raiders of the Lost Ark balls.

And Selanne. Woah. He's never been discussed on the Habs board so kudos for venturing into such uncharted territory.

You know BT, almost hate to bring it up, but one of the funniest days on this board was the day you posted those pics of yourself after getting your sorry a** punched out. Can you do that again?

This thread is kind of obscene, like watching public masturbation.

I don't see the merit in saying make a play for the best FA available, trade for an impact player, and add toughness. Those aren't biblical predictions. People have been saying those things over and over and over.

Everyone on these boards gets things right, and everyone gets things wrong. But it's easier to get things right when you say, trade for a forward with size who will stand in front of the net, and then congratulate yourself after Gainey trades for Tanguay.

Seriously, this is one of the silliest threads I've seen in a long time. Next time you feel the need to speak out like this, I ask that you at least put OT in the title.

Which coincides with these 2 options...

1) I feel satisfied I make good decisions
2) I need recognition from everybody around me to feel secure about myself
