Greg Wyshynski has low opinion of Florida

Yahoo sports story on 'The Deadbeat Club: 10 Least desirable NHL cities for free agents'.

Florida ranks #2, second only to Atlanta, in keeping with their #29 ranking in the power poll someone posted these past couple days.

Once again, Yahoo doesn't like us. At all. They never did and probably never will.

He usually gets in a dig at FLA with regularity, but can you argue with his mainstream opinion in this case?

Big deal.

We'll take our licks and be better for it.

The guy's a great writer though.

Good things about Florida:

1. No state income tax.
2. World class nightlife.
3. You can go to the beach or play golf in February.

Bad things:

1. No tradition of winning.
2. People are a bit impolite.

They're called New York transplants and they've been ruining our reputation for years now.

Ok, he suggests Stillman's contract was bad? are you kidding me right now? Rolston, Ryder, Naslund and Fedorov will all be making more money than him and let's take a look at last season's stats...

Brian Rolston 31g 28a 59 pts in 81 games (5mill)
Markus Naslund 25g 30a 55 pts in 82 games (4 mill)
Sergei Fedorov 11g 30a 41 pts in 68 games (4 mill)
Michael Ryder had a terrible season (4 mill)

Cory Stillman 24 g 41a 65 pts in 79 games (3.5 mill)

OK, Greg Wysynshy, nice comment, next time make sure you know what you're talking about...

I don't even know who the hell this guy is. Who cares what anyone says. I'm glad everyone thinks we suck, maybe now they'll be no expectations.

They, uh...*ahem*...have a message board at that link...I can't recommend you go there en masse and begin flaming the hell out of him, but uhh...I can't, like, stop you...should you all decide on your own to go over there and rip him a new one.

Just about everyone has a low opinion of Florida, which at this point I think is a good thing.

There's no better place to be than last because you can only go up.

It's about time we realize that the Panthers are the underdog instead of the usual pre-season hoopla (ie; we're gonna win the Division!).

Wow. That's incredible. Sergei was terrible last year as was Ryder and each got over 4 mil. Wow.

I will say that Yahoo or not, how many big name FAs have we attracted over the years? Not many...you just don't hear guys chomping at the bit to play here. Part of the reason is our frugal ownership, then you have the losing & lack of hockey history, & then you have the turnstile of management. Our organization has a way to go before earning the respect of anyone.
