i still cant find out why helmenin was not given a chance here. he cant be worse than hollweg or orr on the 4th line vs faster teams.

At this point there is absolutely nothing a team can do that can put any fear on us as Ranger fans. Maybe I could be wrong, but I didn't see anyone significantly make themselves better except TB and they have no defense still. Red Wings look like the favorites again.

Hutchinson signs with TB

http://blogs.tampabay.com/lightning/...-busy-day.html

Quote:
According to owner Len Barrie, it agreed to terms with veteran forward Mark Recchi (one year, $1.25-million with incentives that could bump it up to $1.5-million) and defenseman Andrew Hutchinson (a two-year, one-way deal that indicates he will be a top-seven player)

If Helminen had any future in the NHL, don't you think another team would have made a play for him?

You love those marginal borderline AHLers dont you?

Good. Didnt want him.

The Rangers are the youngest team in the East. (27.4)

I'd like to keep it that way.

I've been confusing JOrts with Callahan43 or whatever, that 15-year old girl on the forum. I think JOrts should go back to his old handle.

QFT.

If we acquire another legitimate scorer it should be through a trade, to clear the glut of mid-level forwards we have under contract.

That's a fair deal.

He and Sundin could do some damage.

No big deal. I didn't see him coming to the Rangers and I'm glad he isn't for sure.

Jason Smith is not a 7th D man...........maybe Struds is back for dirt cheap........it really does make sense for the 7th spot but they could just go with Pock and/or Potter which i am fine with too

really they don't have enough cash........when the hell does the RFA signing period come up?

Also Fedorov to Wsh for 4 million ,good god, Naslund is a steal!

Who the heck is out there on the FA list.......by the way LA needs to hit the cap min...........how about Khabibulin for Labarbera and a pick?..........makes sense to me

Also does anyone realize how bad Atlanta's lineup is right now?.....plus they have TONS of cap space BUT who is left?

Williams, Nagy, Vascicek?..........who else is descent?

Also this morning I am hearing that Nylander's days in Washington may be coming to an end. The signing of Fedorov today essentially puts Nylander on the outside looking in. But Nylander, if healthy as I believe him to be, brings alot to a franchise still. The Rangers definitely had a few moments last year where they thought long and hard about Gomez vs. Nylander.

Two teams that have interest in Nylander, Atlanta and Florida, are in division, but Ottawa I am told, as well as Edmonton could be making a push this afternoon.
Didn't he almost sign there last year and then change his mind (his wife changed his mind)? Ironic if he wound up there now...

I think Nylander to EDM was even announced last year.

Sather NEVER though long and hard about Nylander vs. Gomez though. Nylander got his offer but wanted multiple years, discussion over. 6 months later, he proved exactly why he never should have gotten that multi-year deal.
