I'm leaning toward Chipchura, with Radulov in second

another interesting idea...if someone is offering a center that could come in and help us NOW...say..second line....for our first pick...do we take that deal?

I say we think about it, because there's no one available that strikes me as a really sexy prospect, from what I'm looking at.

That's what i'm thinking too, i'm not sold on Chipchura and Radulov not sure about. I wouldn't be opposed to trading the pick.

Me too. I take Chipper and don't look back. We've taken safe picks like Hartnell and Upshall, but we lack centers so badly both in our system and on the big squad that acquiring one through the draft makes too much sense.

I'd rate Smid/Montoya as the BPA, but would likely pick Radulov or Chipcura.

I would be baiting someone trying to trade up to get Montoya, but since we can't I'll go with the sexy pick and take Chipchura

Hey Beaker, good to see you started it back up!

My initial reaction is that the Preds have an opportunity to get a young prospect with potential to be a dynamic, flashy, offensive juggernaut along the lines of a Kovalchuk, Zherdev, or Gaborik, with the 15th overall pick in the draft and they should take full advantage of it despite the risk. This is the one and only area I think Nashville falls below the 3 other expansion teams.

However, reading some of the above posts written by people w/ greater knowledge of the Preds system and needs than myself, if you need a center than I guess it's hard to pass on Chipchura. I hesitate a little on that because it seems to me like drafting another Hartnell. But then again, at 15, there's nothing wrong with that. Tough call, I could either way, but I'll go Chip.

"Another Hartnell" is exactly why we want him, we need a physical center between Hall and Harts.

We could go the scorer route this pick though and try to pick up Geoff Paukovich later in the draft.

We've got two legit scoring threats in Shishkanov and Glazachev in the system...we need a big physical centerman to play between Hall and Hartnell

Agreed, our only hole is a respectable center with size. We have everything from size and skill on D to size on the wings to skill on the wings. We just don't have size AND skill up the middle.

Add Chipchura to the Nashville prospect base, and I'm really excited about the quality of prospects Nashville has. Nashville has quality now, but to add someone like Chipchura as well it'd look even more impressive.

The thing is the board to board mock draft was started weeks ago and things have changed...we know now that O'Neill is not going to go top 10...probably won't go top 20...oh well...
