Great idea. This totally fits in with the new younger & faster team Slats & TR are building.

Also, after being benched for a good bit of last season, what kind of trade value do you think Prucha has? My guess is not much.

Shanny who needed 2 week rest during the season to be able to play?
Shanny who is on serious decline?
Shanny who is slower and slower and didn't produce in playoffs at all?
No thanks...
Rangers have plenty of young bottom6 players, now Shanny should take their spot?
Maybe Sather did have plan to sign Shanny if he would not be able to land Zherdev or Naslund...but i simply can't see place for Shanny in this team.

As for Prucha - his trade value is alltime low...imo it doesn't make sense to trade him now for peanuts, lets see if he can pick it in the first half of the season.

Yeah.. dump the fast and young for the old and slow. Brilliant.

Reduced role my ass. Once a top-six forward goes a little cold, Renney will have Shanahan out there eating up top-six minutes for the rest of the season.

Chain Prucha to the weight room and see if he can put on 15lbs.

Renney and the Rangers want to get faster, I don't think Shanahan fits that mold.
PLEASE , the guy is still young, play him on the PP and a 2nd line and see what happens

You mean 40 isn't the new 26 in the NHL? Shocking!

If Shanny comes back and he's wearing a uniform, I'm going to lose it.

I could be wrong, but I think he was referring to Prucha.

Must have something to do with his diet and exercise plan. He's little, so he probably doesn't eat enough to begin with. Couple that with his speed, and that leads me to believe he does too much cardio and not enough weight training. He's probably burning off twice as much as he puts into his body. Frankly, if Prucha could get up to 185-190lbs.. I think he'd be an absolutely dynamite NHL winger and I'd have no problem having him in the top-six. Kid has more heart than most people on that team, but he's just so puny.

agreed. Unless of course we get him for a stellar discount of say a $1m base w/ $5 mil in incentives for lacing up his own skates you know like last year.

agreed.....he is just too small...he has the heart you would like to take out and put in other players bodies but his size is just too much of a roadblock

I donít want Shanny, Mr. Ill shoot from any angle all the time and rarely score, back with this team. The guy is done, and it would be a wasted spot. I would much see that spot given to someone young with upside, over a has-been. I would also even enjoy seeing Prucha suck out there, with a chance to find his game again, but shanny, thatís a big no. Only way I would enjoy seeing Shanny on the NYR is if he was on the 4th line, on a year deal, barely making money.
