Dudes.... the Habs have so many very decent Dmen prospects its hard not to believe they'll be one of the best defensive teams in the next 10-15 years.

He would be great with the Habs. Imagine Markov or Kovalev feeding him as he streaks in from the blueline on our powerplay, like the last goal in the video.

This guy is awesome, really wish he would come over.

If he showed any interest whatsoever to hope on a plane and come over atleast to training camp id say put me on the list. But from what i see so far, hes a talent gone to waste.

I'd like to see him play in NA before becoming a full time Blackbird. You never know how some players take the different style.

I'd be in his fan-club if there was reason to believe he's coming over.

McGuire said during the WC that from what he gathered, Korneev planned to finish his contract in Russia (expires at the end of the upcoming season) and then wants to come to NA.

I think a lot of the reason he never really came over is because he was drafted the year before Gainey and Timmins' took over. So he wasn't really 'their' prospect. But now that he's improved his game so much and become one of the top RSL defenseman, I think that Gainey might just want to get him here.

Add me up ! Let's keep those fingers crossed ! He's got great offensive upside. ( too bad he's still under contract in russia in a time where we really need an offensive presence at the blue line and on PP.)

Weird, I just randomly thought about him a few days ago. I googled him but couldn't find much so I was gonna ask on here about him. If he comes to NA, the Habs have the rights to him right?

You'll have to look back during the WC threads, I guess. I don't think there was ever an article written about it or Korneev, at all.. but he hyped the crap out of Korneev being a Habs prospect during a televised game.

When he comes to Montreal, I'll be a big fan. Until then I'm not going to bother. I'm already occupied with the Alexei Emelin fan club, who I think will adapt to NA play better.

If this guy can actually make the jump to the NHL, that would be another habs steal (I don't think Timmins picked Korneev)

I had no clue we drafted this guy in the 9th round

We would have the best top-4 D in the league and probably the best defense.

For the powerplay, I would love to have his teammate (Valyash) who has the strongest Slpashot in RSL.
Hold on there Tiger... Let's see him make the team first. Korneev hasn't done enough to merit those kind of predictions. If he ever did come over, it's probably more realistic to say he would be used like Streit was and brought up in the same manner... Some PP and bottom pairing D.
