I know nada...

looks like a Hartford signing. OK size and a fair amount of PIMs would suggest he's either a physical player or he takes stupid penalties.

I have him at 5'11", 207, with 111 PIM in 66 games. Real tough guy, crasher, without much offensive upside.

I saw that he had 8 points in 66 games and thought he must be a good defensive d-man.

http://stats.theahl.com/stats/player.php?id=2059

He was -13 last year

Clearly this guy isn't even towards the top of our Hartford D corp.

Probably trying to add some more grit to Hartford after the loss of Fritz, Lessard, etc.

Either that or he's our tough-guy #7 d-man.

From the few clips I've seen, seems like he catches guys with big hits and then gets challenged..

He came into my shop last year and wanted me to fit him for every piece of equipment because Colorado's trainers were on vacation.

He didn't want to buy anything, but wanted me to give him an hour of my time.

Other than that, I have no info on him.

-13...

in and of itself is a meaningless stat. Did his team have trouble scoring at even strength? Was he going against top lines and the forwards couldn't contain the other teams' top lines? Did the goalie suck? How was his defensive partner? Was the team as a whole quite bad in the +/- category?

Only saw two videos of him on Youtube. Both were fights.. and he got whooped in both of them pretty badly.

Kinda reminds me of Avery.

hey Whatever they need to get some bodies in Hartford to fill the bottom Dman spots

I am assuming at this pt that Pock will stay and be the 7th Dman and I am fine with that since he is 24/25 and deserves a spot on the team........always has

Which leaves Potter , Sauer, Sanguinetti as the call ups and I believe Fahey and this Russian dude...............They must have other bodies ready to step in too but not top prospects.........is'nt their a Jake Taylor?

Dale Purinton played 35 games on the Monsters last season and had a +/- of 0.

However, the +- on that team dips as low as -28 and soared as high as +4.

So I guess he's middle of the road on one of the worst teams in the ahl, in terms of +/-, at least.

This is just restocking Hartford's blueline, nothing concerning the Rangers. They lost Hutchinson Baranka and Taylor and Sauer is hurt so they needed a few guys I'm sure.

Often times...

Dale was a useful defenseman - when he wasn't being a bonehead and taking stupid penalties. When he kept it simple, he didn't make a heck of a lot of mistakes and was pretty serviceable. And that was on a not-so-great defensive team. He's probably a good AHL defenseman currently.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Maybe someone's worried that we don't have an overly physical D-man.

I'd say he's competition for Potter and Pock for the 7th dman spot. One of them will stay with the big club and the other 2 will go back down.

Best indicator of what players are being acquired might be under consideration for places in Hartford is the Wolf Pack web site. They post the Ranger signings for guys like Denisov, Jamtin, Vorros, Zabba, Parenteau (and ex-Packer Valiquette) but ignore signings such as Naslund, Kalinin, Mara, etc. That should give you a good idea of who could end up in Hartford.

IMO, this is 100% a Hartford signing. The Pack are short of bodies on defense, and this guy sounds like a serviceable replacement for Liffiton. They still need to sign at least one more defenseman to round out the lineup.
