Even then, he wasn't nearly as useless as people make him out to be. Was he a shell of his former self? Absolutely. However, he still had the hands and the shot to produce. In hindsight, I question whether sending Mogilny down to the AHL was the right move, but I don't know what was going on behind the scenes. Had Mogilny stayed with the Devils he probably would have cleared 55 points and not be looked upon with the disgust that most Devils' fans have of him today.
It's more about contract length, though. I wouldn't give Sundin a 2 year deal, either. Just a 1 year deal. I'm about as far from OK with multi-year deals for over 35 players as possible ever since Lou **** the bed with his MoMa signings.

i think this just comes with the rivalry. Im sure if a Devils fan started a thread like this, rags fans would be all over it too.

The thing is its just not good to start threads like this, because something like this is bound to happen.

I think the Rolston deal was a year too long. However, he can obviously still produce in this league and there's no reason to think a player of his physical condition won't be able to do so for a couple more years.

I like the Holik signing because he provides us with several things we were missing last season. I believe it will work out, but if it doesn't, thanks for the mediocre season and goodbye.

Still I don't think its outrageous to suggest that Sundin can perform at a high level for another two years.

When Nieuwendyk was with the Devils he put up 45 points in his last year. If Rolston can put up about that many points when he's 39 his contract will still be a success.

I see Icelanders fans are viewing our cage match/thread of failure. Maybe we should get the Flyers and Pens fans and have an Atlantic division brawl. I know the Mods would have heart attacks. They probably just gave up on this thread already. (If they were smart)

Over/Under 12 hours for lock?

I dont know why it did that. It was your original quote until I posted it. Probably my fault. But who really cares anyway?

Am I correct in assuming that you think we Devils fans are jealous of the Rangers in any way, shape, or form?

Screw that - let's go to the Pens board; recruit them then head over to the Wings board and bash them senseless.

We can start with the 84 year old Chelios and go from there.

I'll take a good East vs. West fight right about now... those "run and gun" hippies. Free flowin' offense luvin' tree huggers.

Ok then...I tried to let this stay open as long as it could but as i'm sure ALL of you know....nothing good is coming from it. It turned into one big Rangers vs Devils fans thread.

Sorry JA11, I know you spent a lot of time on the thread but it has to be closed before half the board receives warnings/infractions.

=================================================
Enough Ranger and Devil fans....lets not start a huge war in the offseason.

Further posts to try to incite this little "battle" on the boards will result in an infraction (This has been told to BOTH boards)
