being drafted and playing with the wild, will Bouchard ever bulk up? I mean he came into his first camp at 162, nothing has changed. He is a great talent, but he will continue to struggle until he gets around 180. I would like to see him at, at least 170! The guy is one of my favs, and I think he has great potential, but your not going to do a thing at 5'10 162lbs.

He's 5-10? With skates, right?

I'd like to see some muscle weight added, but not at the expense of quickness or speed. He's still very young.

If he is not bulked up by 22-24 then i would worry. Some guys just take a long to grow. Usually the guys are 6 feet plus, but most people do not reach their physical peak until about 29-32 anyway.

I recall Lemaire being quoted last fall during camp that he didn't want to see Butch put on too much weight because it would slow him down.

Obviously he has a bit more he can gain, but he's going to be very light by NHL standards his entire career no matter what (at max he'll be 180 when all is said and done but frankly I don't think he'll hit 175...I honestly don't think he's getting any taller). I would say the most important thing is how his weight is distributed and what sort it is (muscle vs. fat) not so much the amount.

His quickness, skill, and brains are the three things keeping him in the NHL.
