No question, it's Gomer. Gomer-Drury-Dubie-Betts; the only way that isn't the order is if Drury goes to wing, then it would be Gomer-Dubie-Rissmiller/Fritsche-Betts.

Oh yeah, Betts is going to be our first line center.

There are really only two choices, at best.

If you define top line center by the center with the most ice time then it's not impossible. We all remember Renney's love affair with the 4th line last year.

Please show me where Betts played more than 2 other centers, much less all three.

I am very critical of the way Betts has been used at times, but I don't remember him playing more than Gomez or Drury.

It's your poll and since I've never started one, I have no idea what happened.

Ftw = For the Win

Ftl = For the Loss

and I'd have to go with Gomez as the Top Center

Oh, to start the season. Gomez.
By the end of the season it could be Anisimov...

I voted Gomer, but I am hoping that Dubinsky becomes the top center for this team. He really impressed me last season. For what it's worth, he looks like he 'wants it' out there on the ice more than the other two.

Hope he can become a young leader, a la Richards.

Anisimov makes the team out of camp.

Gomez
Dubinsky
Anisimov
Betts

Drury on the wing.

Yup...and Fritsche is headed to RW.. I'm not sure why people have Callahan ahead of him, since Fritsche is a more proven player, and Sather made it clear that the Rangers were in interested in getting him, too. (As opposed to the prevailing thought that he was just a throw-in.)

Gomez. I think he might click very well with Näslund.

so drury is going to move to a postion he hasn't played in 6 years so anisimov can be rushed to the nhl?

ok...

If Anisimov makes the club out of camp, that will not be rushing him. That would mean the Rangers obviously would feel he is ready, in that scenario.

Drury can play wing. He is the only top 6 guy on the club who can be switched, and has a history of doing so.

The process adds a young center who is very solid defensively, and it automatically adds a legitimate top line winger.

It is an ideal scenario that would benefit the Rangers more then it could possibly harm them.

There are many instances around the league where basically two centers play on a line, and in some cases one of the top two lines, making that line not only potent offensively, but solid defensively, and gives the coach options on important face offs… see: Detroit Red Wings (Zetterberg & Datsyuk).
