He'd be an alright fit, but only if he's going to play on say our third line with Higgins and Chipchura.. That would probably throw Latendresse out of the lineup though, french media would have a bird.
A year or two ago I would have jumped at the chance. I wouldn't be completely against it if the price was right and Gainey found a good way of clearing room on the roster, but I'm really not interested this time around. I don't want to see a dime taken away from what we should be saving for Sundin.
He had his chance to come here, perfered the Rangers, now they don't want him anymore so he turns back to us 2 years too late just like Lapointe and Gelinas and many others.
I hate the idea of Sergei playing on the third line, he has too much offensive upside to play with a guy like Lapierre.. If the third line was Higgins-Koivu-S.Kost i'd be in heaven (by getting Sundin and having A.Tang-Sundin-Latenderesse).

He make for an interesting Right handed shot option on the PowerPlay.. Something we haven't really had since Ryder was good in 06-07, it adds another option to our game plan.

If we got Sundin and he saw the commitment that the Habs are doing to win it all I think he would be a good fit at a million and the rest incentive based. He is a guy who has made his money, and he wants to win and truthfully I think he is a guy wanting to live out his dream of playing for another original six team and go out on top.
