Wiikman had a very good year last season. It looks as if he'll be Hartford's starting goalie. Zaborsky had a pretty decent year as an overage major junior player. I haven't got him penciled in yet as a top liner in Hartford. He has a lot of guys he'll have to pass. Maybe he will--maybe he won't. Some people think both he and Hillier are going to displace everybody. It's not out of the realm of all possibility but I have doubts. Pyatt had a better junior career than Zaborsky. Even so he struggled as a first year pro--finishing the season in the ECHL. Ranger management seem to think that it's partly a confidence issue and that he can get over it. He still has to succeed at the AHL level before we can consider him a top prospect. Jessiman has been getting the same tough love the last couple years. It's all up to him.

Wiikman. Add Kveton.

On Baranka: I was originally voting for him on the assumption that the Rangers would retain his NHL rights even after he signed in the KHL. However, since the Rangers did not make him a qualifying offer, he is no longer Rangers property and should not be included on the list.

On the other hand, new free agent signee Vladimir Denisov IS eligible as a prospect under HF Rules, so he can be added to the poll

Soryal, then Kundratek.

Both got potential, Soryal since he is so underdevelopt in his skating -- and Kundratek since he is so young and everything. And, he is the top ranked Czech. Even if the Czech isn't producing any nukes, they are sending out pretty decent teams to every WJC's. Like they are atleast in the same league as Canada's best of the best.

Zabrosky is a "bust" IMO. I hope I am wrong -- something that happends all the time -- but by my judgement he is clearly a player who don't got it, he isn't even close.

If I remember right Paiement was 19 or something when he was drafted. He'd already been passed over once or twice. He had skating problems as well. Gaulton was not passed over in his first eligible draft--the concern is he did not play much because of an elbow injury. The Rangers in the past few years have reached for injured players who have fallen off the radar. Not saying that Gaulton is a sure fire NHL'er but I don't really see much comparison between his situation and Paiement's.

Paiement was an overager who had 1 good year.

Gaulton was a highly rated prospect who fell because of injury.

Huge difference.

Agreed. He's my next vote after Wiikman. I have very very high hopes for him and am thrilled that he fell to us
