If it's anyone who wore a Rangers' jersey.. I believe Gretzky may deserve a spot.

As Post WWII team it's not bad--problem here is that only a handful of posters here actually saw Bathgate or Howell as Rangers. I go back to 71-72 so I missed them as well. As for all time team--pre WWII as the above poster has it where is Boucher, Bill Cook, Rayner etal. Might as well add Ching Johnson and Bill's brother Bun, Muzz Patrick and Davey Kerr. There's really no way to be fair or objective about this.

By the way I'd take Barry Beck any day over James Patrick--maybe even Ruotsolainen.

haha, he didnt wear for an actual "NHL" game though. if i counted Playoffs i would put Gretzky in, but i dont think he makes it actually if you count regular season.

Andy Bathgate and Gump Worsley have to be on that list. Richter and Giacoman I agree with but as much as I love Henrik, he got to go farther than the 2nd round to beat our the Gumper and Chuck Raynor.

WOW you really think Hank makes all time list so soon? I know I am not his biggest fan but he really doesn't belong there.

Divide it up and make 2 teams, then combine for the ultimate?

Henrik needs to win a couple of Vezinas and win a Cup before he's mentioned in the same breath as Richter as Giacomin. He's almost there though I think

Gump is the only guy I see that would be missing. If we're talking about any Ranger that has played in uniform, Zubov definitely warrants consideration too.

Lundy is great and all, but when he wins the Cup, we'll talk.

Richter was a key player for us in the Cup run. I actually thought he'd win the playoff MVP.

He was a great goalie for us and for Team USA for many years.

As a Devil fan if I might pipe-in(too lat hehe) MR, knowing he was in goal for the US is something we havent had sinse was a person JUST LIKE GRAVE AND MESSIER NOT TO ROOT FOR unlessit is ina a game 7, might as well throw leetch and the 3 gooners(one king too!) in there(domi, stock, langdon, and even chris king). Some dont merrit looking at the list or being clost to it though.

winning a cup means nothing to me regarding Henrik. he could go his entire career and not win another single playoff game, but if the stats are there, the stats are there. The playoffs, and a Stanley Cup run is very much about the team around you, game 5 against the Pens is a perfect example of that, he stood on his freaking head, but lost. Hes not the greatest goalie in Rangers history, but I think hes already in the top 5, which is freaking incredible considering hes only played 3 seasons in a Rangers jersey. He needs to keep having solid GAA, Wins, Shutouts, SV% for another 7-10 years, then we can call him the greatest goalie in franchise history. 1 season does not a career make, nor do 2, or 3, or 5. We need to see the entire body of work before we can make that distinction.

One could argue Richter would have made the HOF if he didnt have injury issues, but that is a fact of playing hockey, sometimes careers are cut short, longevity is important.

Lets give henrik another 10 years before we make up our minds on him.

considering Henke is already 7th on all-time wins for NYR and only a couple of seasons away from #1 Richter and it was only his 3rd season

Giacomin played in an era without overtime in the regular season...

Richter played in an era with OT (but mostly 5 on 5 OT) and NO shootout..

Lundqvist plays in an era with shootouts and 4 on 4 OT....

Lundqvist should have a GIANT * next to his win totals..

Can Lundqvist play a complete season without a prolonged slump or a birth in the ECF first before we start throwing his name out there with a Hall of Famer like Giacomin and perhaps a future hall of famer like Richter..

why should there be an * when its during the ERA. you act as if it doesnt count. so basicly Brodeur should have an big * next to his name in the hall of fame because he broke Roy's Record during this era. your argument is flawed...
