So now they're only one step away from paying their fans to watch them play.

Love the idea (for Oilers fans) - I just hope they wouldn't add an extra preseason game. There's already too many.

What they should do is make sure a whole bunch of those tickets go to charities - that way they get into the hands of the people who really need them.

Attendance, unfortunately, is the least of their worries.

Ya, but I thought the joke should be made.
It is nice to see them attempting to look after their less fortunate fans.

It sure isn't - but their crowd SUCKS. It's so corporate. When I went to a game there last year, it was like being in a giant boardroom.

Meh, if they ever decided to have one of the games fully sponsored so that the club could give all of tickets away to charities and kids and such then who cares if it means an extra pre-season game in September.

It's a really great idea by the Leafs. I had heard of some American teams having afternoon games in the preseason during the school week as a "reward" and then entire groups of kids would be able to get out to a game, but this takes it a step further where the game is fully sponsored.

Kudos to the Leafs on this idea.

Because it is! Who else can afford to pay for tickets.

... while nobody goes to Marlie games at the Ricoh coliseum.

Like I said, I love the idea - but instead of adding an extra game, they should do something similar to Tickets For Troops. I would gladly donate my tickets for that.

My point about the extra game, is that many players and teams don't like the amount of preseason games as is - that's all.

I was lucky that my client was a season ticket holder. We went to a Marlie's game and I had more fun there, than I did at the ACC.

I guess the Leafs want the poor to suffer further by watching them now...

Apparently the Oilers do have something like this in the works.
