why would that make me look stupid? There's nothing more that I love more than the sport itself, but that doesn't change the fact that the NHL is a bush league ran by bunch of clowns...Just because you love something you don't have to be in denial of its' flaws...

you think there'd be this much confusion over MLB, NBA or NFL schedules?...We'd know all about it months in advance...

if it wasnt for the Canadiens being in it, i would never watch the NHL. im not against the Canadian teams forming there own league and expanding to europe if necessary.

let the American teams make there own league and keep the NHL logo and name if they want. The USA can own the NHL if they want but still the best league would be the Canadian one.

That has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard, especially considering a Canadian team hasn't won a cup since 1992

schedule is bull like usual...you would think this time around montreal would actually begin at home as their first game...seems every year they begin their season in another nhl city. 100th anniversary....but yet they couldnt push to start off in montreal? 2nd thing i've heard lately that's disapointed me...the other is it looks like no outdoor game

Why do we never start our season off with a home game?

6th time in a row we start the season away.
Could be even more, I'm not sure about 2001-2002

I think they do it to jumpstart bad hockey markets. Montreal's a big draw and plenty of teams would like to headline their season against us.

I seem to remember us starting a fair amount of our seasons against Buffalo, Carolina, and New Jersey so that theory would make sense.

Yeah, I know, but we usually do quite well (in the past few years) on opening games anyway. A win is a win.

Word. We should be at home on a saturday night against the Leafs or rangers...not a friday night in Buffalo...

Last couple of seasons we have gotten to very good early starts that even got the media to compare our team of some of the dynasties in non recent past, and I credit the coaching staff for getting our team ready right out of training camp. I mean a rough couple games lost in the first 10 of the season is like screwing up 12 % of the year no? If we are to capture the eastern title agian this year we must be ready. I don't think we can pull a senators 2 years ago where we suck and all of a sudden you see us #4-1. Unless...

The thanksgiving weekend BUF/TOR/OTT road trip has been a habit for the last 3 years to open Habs season.
