i dont even want to argue with you. you are talking out of your ass right now. If you actually read my OP, then you would realize i said it was a 1 in a billion chance it would happen. i didnt start anything with you, you clearly were trying to start a flame war by stating a dumbass coment like he would sign for free. and FYI BubblegumGang is Marc Staal, Ryan Hollweg, Jason Strudwick, and sometimes Colton Orr. But keep telling yourself what you want.

if we can move prucha, we should have about 4 mil open. would he sign for 4 mil and 2 mil in reasonably attainable bonuses(75 pts?)? I'd love him on our team, but I don't think its an option at this point. I'm not even sure how the bonus dollar situation will work since there is no CBA in place for next season.

and to those of you who ***** about signing drury AND gomez......the new catchphrase from this point forward is "redden AND roszival". thathoset duo of contracts will cripple us more than any others that we handed out.

I'd close this thread. It will turn into a pissing match between our fans and Habs and Nucks fans that will find their way over here. I highly doubt Sundin signs with the Rangers for that price.

Maybe Naslund who is Sundin's good friend will convince him to take a bit of a cut and the fact Henrik is here will also persuade him.

Jamtin + Henke + Nazzy + Sjostrom + Sundin = Holmstrom + Zetterberg + Samuelsson + Kopecy + Franzen + Lilja + Fillupa

Since you're trying to so hard to outwit him and look good in the process, I'd figure I'd give you a helping hand and tell you that it's not dreams, but delusions of grandeur.

Maybe, you should go back to your village. I can hear them calling for you now.

What do Kopecky - Czech - and Fillpula - Finnish - have to do with Sundin?

with Jagr gone I see no reason to get Sundin.
The team was supposed to get younger wasn't it?
We wouldn't renew Jagr and we will take on Sundin.....if that is the case I will become the UNHAPPY LONDON RANGER

Everyone else, why must this Sundin nonsense continue? With the extreme personality makeover the Rangers have received in the past few weeks, with getting younger and faster, why would we even consider bringing in yet another almost-over-the-hill, soon-to-be-retired veteran? Didn't we have enough of them from '98-04...? Do we really need to step back into that old Rangers mentality?

I'd much, much rather see Korpikoski or Anisimov make this team than see Sundin here.

Sundin isn't coming here. End of story.

Quote:
Freddie Sjostrom is apparently more clearheaded than we are -- he is not seeking a big raise over last year's $800,000 salary, he is actually ready to accept a cut to $650,000 in exchange for a two-year deal, with negotiations over those terms still ongoing.

Gomez $7,357,143
Drury $7,050,000
Lundqvist $6,875,000
Redden $6,500,000
Rozsival $5,000,000
Naslund $4,000,000
Zherdev $2,500,000
Kalinin $2,100,000
Mara $1,950,000
Prucha $1,600,000
Girardi $1,550,000
Voros $1,000,000
Rissmiller $1,000,000
Fritsche $875,000
Staal $826,667
Valiquette $725,000
Pock $667,500
Sjostrom $650,000
Dubinsky $633,333
Betts $615,000
Dawes $587,500
Callahan $575,000
Orr $537,500

That's 14 forwards, seven defensemen, and two goalies who total just about $55,175,000 under the cap, leaving just about $1.5 million. However, Jaromir Jagr is believed to be owed a buyout of his contract option that is worth $760,000 and Brendan Shanahan's bonus overage from last year is believed to be in the $750,000 range, leaving the Rangers right up against the $56.7 million cap. The only room to move would be to replace Pock with a slightly cheaper option at #7 D (e.g. Corey Potter or Vladimir Denisov), to replace one of the new million dollar men, Voros and Rissmiller, or Fritsche, with a cheaper option from Hartford, or to make a cap-friendly trade, of which Prucha seems to be the only viable candidate. Even so, there appears to be no room whatsoever for re-signing Shanahan or adding another high profile player like Mats Sundin.
Most likely option is that Prucha gets traded and/or Rissmiller gets traded/sent down and we replace them with a cheaper players from Hartford, like Korpikoski and Byers.

True, but he's still cheaper than Prucha @ 1.6, and Byers is cheaper than Rissmiller. Those 2 moves would cut about 1 mil off the cap, giving us room to maneuver during the season.

Looks like Slats is going to need a top-six forward on a sub 1 mil contract if he wants Renney to roll 14 forwards.
